On March 26, Netflix launched its latest reality TV series, Million Dollar Secret, presenting its audience with the first three episodes. Notably, Episode 2, titled The Five Suspects, focused on the contestants’ ongoing challenge to identify the secret millionaire among them, a recurring theme throughout the season.
During the pivotal roundtable discussion in Episode 2, the contestants voted off Harry, suspecting him to be the hidden millionaire. Following this dramatic elimination, Harry revealed his chest, which was notably empty, confirming he was not the secret contestant. As he unveiled the empty box, he remarked:
“Zipola folks, you’ve all been played.”
This elimination marked another significant turn of events for the contestants. While some participants did vote for the actual secret millionaire, Lauren, their votes were not enough to override the majority that fell for the ruse concerning Harry.
The Voting Ceremony and Harry’s Exit from Episode 2
The episode commenced with host Peter guiding the contestants through the voting process, instructing them to select who they believed to be the millionaire. He emphasized that the contestant with the highest number of votes would be eliminated. In a confessional, Lauren expressed her concern over receiving three votes, attributing this to her strategic maneuvers within the game.
She explained:
“Initially, I was pretty confident I may be temporarily safe, but I’m on the chopping block. So I tried to throw Harry under the bus and put a target on his back.”
Lauren’s strategy hinged on the hope that enough contestants would be swayed to vote for Harry. In another confessional, Harry expressed his shock at being blindsided by the group, despite not being the millionaire. He voiced his sentiment:
“I put it out and told them, Lauren is very suspect, and I hope everybody sees it.”
Regrettably for Harry, his appeals fell on deaf ears as Peter proceeded to tally the votes. Meanwhile, Sam shared her own suspicions in a confessional, explaining that her instincts led her to vote for Lauren, although she feared she was also at risk of elimination. She hoped for a twist of fate where several contestants would target someone other than herself.
As the moment of truth arrived, Peter announced that Harry had been voted as the presumed millionaire. He reluctantly opened his box, only to discover it was empty. Witnessing the stunned reactions from his fellow contestants, Harry remarked:
“Every one of you just realized you absolutely haven’t a clue what’s going on.”
Peter broke the news that Harry was indeed not their secret millionaire and informed him that his time at The Stag, the contestants’ residence, was over. As Harry departed, he received Peter’s well-wishes for future endeavors.
Expressing his disappointment to the cameras, Harry lamented the experience of being the first contestant to leave, asserting he had not acted in any deceitful manner. As he prepared to leave The Stag, he extended his compliments to the chef before departing.
