On January 18th, the Seoul Southern District Court will proceed with the sentencing hearing for Nam Tae-hyun and Seo Min-jae on charges of administering methamphetamine.
Earlier, the prosecution demanded imprisonments of 1 year and 6 months for Seo Min-jae and 2 years for Nam Tae-hyun, respectively. They also requested the court to fine Nam Tae-hyun 500,000 won and Seo Min-jae 450,000 won.

The prosecution made such requests with the reason that the crimes of people who are recognized by the public can have a big impact on society and the two actually denied their crime in the initial investigation. They also pointed out that Nam Tae-hyun conspired to commit the crime despite having received a suspended sentence for smoking marijuana last year.
During the last trial, Nam Tae-hyun said, “I’ve been spending time in a drug rehabilitation facility to look back on wrongdoings and take better care of myself. No one told me to live like that. It was all my choice” , adding “I’m trying to look back on myself to live like a human being. As a person who used to take drugs, I will take the lead in raising the awareness of others, including young people, about drugs so that they would not make the wrong choices as I did.”
Seo Min-jae also said, “I will not be able to repay all the debts to society, but I’ll try my best to become a more sincere person, take responsibility for my mistakes and reflect on myself” .
The two appeared on KBS 1TV’s “In Depth 60 Minutes” and shared their whereabouts while overcoming drug addiction. Nam Tae-hyun said, “The first one or two months were very difficult, but after three months, I became more relaxed. Now that it’s already over six months, I don’t think about drugs anymore” .
Seo Min-jae confessed, “I lost everything I had because of drugs. I hope people don’t take drugs” .
Meanwhile, Nam Tae-hyun and Seo Min-jae are accused of purchasing and administering methamphetamine at their residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul in August last year.
