Why Thor 5 Should Introduce Storm Without the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

**Spoiler Alert:** The following text contains spoilers for *Storm #7*! As one of Marvel’s most iconic superheroes, I am eagerly awaiting Storm’s much-anticipated debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recent developments in the comics have convinced me that she would be an incredible addition to the Thor film series.

We’ve already caught a glimpse of Storm in an adjacent MCU project, wielding Mjölnir in *What If…?*. Moreover, the cliffhanger in her ongoing comic finally brings her face-to-face with Thor, showcasing both heroes on the stunning cover of the upcoming *Storm #8*. Their powerful imagery leaves fans eager for more.

While Storm has a rich history that draws from her days with the X-Men, I find her current solo series compelling enough that her entry into the MCU should showcase her as an independent hero. The previous six issues of the series captivated fans, but *Storm #7* features an electrifying action sequence that the MCU desperately needs. This issue highlights her battle against an ensemble of new divine adversaries, vividly illustrating Storm’s extraordinary power and heritage.

The display of strength in this battle is remarkable; at one point, Storm conjures a colossal octopus to assist her against the gods. A standout moment occurs when, under intense pressure, she strategically cuts her own hair to refresh her focus and prepare for the next phase of the confrontation. Just when it seems she might be cornered, Thor makes an entrance, setting the stage for a legendary alliance against the Storm Gods.

The potential for these Storm Gods to serve as compelling adversaries in a future Thor film excites me greatly. Many fans were left wanting more from the translation of Gorr the God Butcher’s narrative in *Thor: Love and Thunder*. This presents an excellent opportunity for Marvel to correct course and deliver a riveting “battle of the gods,”with a strong foundation already laid by Ayodele and Vecchio in *Storm #7*.

A Thor Team-Up Only Makes Sense

Thor calls Storm a god

While many speculate that an X-Men project will serve as Storm’s entry point into the MCU, her solo storyline demonstrates that she can certainly shine independently. Collaborations with her fellow mutants, Black Panther, Thor, or even the Avengers are equally fitting for a character of her caliber. Particularly, the notion of Storm joining forces with Thor in a potential fifth installment is captivating, especially given that the newly introduced Storm Gods perfectly align with her evolving narrative.

After the explosive events of *Storm #7*, it’s clear that an epic showdown is on the horizon as Storm and Thor unite forces against the Storm Gods. The action sequences and high-stakes drama demand that the MCU draws inspiration from the current Storm series. Though Storm has numerous heroic allies, her partnership with Thor in both the comics and upcoming films could establish her rightful title as a true goddess within the Marvel Universe.
