Donald Trump unleashed another one of his infamous rants during a rally in Pennsylvania yesterday, coinciding with the arrival of Hurricane Milton.
Rather than demonstrating leadership by providing guidance or compassion, Trump chose to lash out at the women from The View, who featured Kamala Harris in an interview on October 8. The former president appeared profoundly upset by Harris’s logical responses to questions and voiced his displeasure at the rally. He initially targeted Sunny Hostin, attacking her for her questioning of the vice president. “I think the other one asking the question is dumber than Kamala. She’s a dummy. I’ve watched her over the years. That is one dumb… that is one dumb woman,” Trump shouted to his audience, as erratic as ever.
Trump didn’t stop his offensive remarks there; he also took aim at Whoopi Goldberg. “I’ve employed Whoopi as a comedian before,” he remarked. “Her language was so crude, it was like every word was the F word. I was among a group of nice people, and we had to leave. She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting. Oh, what a loser she is.”
However, the women from The View weren’t about to be intimidated by these repulsive comments. They fired back during their show today, making a bold entrance to Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty.”Goldberg confidently declared that she was, indeed, “filthy” —and she embraced it.
“It turns out I was filthy. I was filthy, and I own that. And you knew that when you hired me. I headlined, babe, at your casino, which I might have continued to do had you not run it into the ground. How foolish are you that you hired me four times and didn’t realize what you were getting? How foolish are you?”
Once upon a time, Trump could attract talents like Goldberg. But those glory days are long behind him. Following her, Hostin noted, “Donald Trump, I appreciate you for constantly providing us with a wealth of material through your many lies and alleged crimes. You make our jobs so much easier, and I’m thankful for that.” She went on to emphasize, “Like Vice President Kamala Harris, I have a history of prosecuting sex offenders, so I appreciate you for keeping individuals like us in business.”
The show hosts then humorously criticized Trump for appearing more concerned about The View than the hurricane wreaking havoc across the country. Goldberg also highlighted that she, unlike Trump, has never boasted about “grabbing anyone by the pu**y.” That infamous remark continues to trail Trump, and rightly so. While Goldberg and Hostin can indeed handle Trump’s inappropriate behavior, they shouldn’t have to. This latest instance of name-calling underscores that nothing frightens the former president more than assertive women.
