Fortnite’s Battle Royale features various NPCs you can interact with during your matches. In Chapter 5 Season 1 this is no different, where Epic Games has reshuffled the pack with fresh faces for this season.
Each NPC character offers unique benefits to help you get that Victory Royale, such as exchanging of items for weapons or even providing services, which can include joining your team to fight for you.
You’ll also need to visit many of these characters over the course of Chapter 5 Season 1 to complete certain quests and earn XP, so it’s definitely worth taking some time to study the list below and try to memorize their locations.
In the latest season, there are fewer NPCs than we’ve seen in recent seasons, making it harder to come across them. From classic characters to originals from the Battle Pass, here are all the NPCs and their current locations in Fortnite.

Those are all of the NPC characters and their current locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. The v28.30 update has added three new NPCs of Lana Llane, Odyssey and Sonor. It has also moved Silas Hesk from Ruined Reels to the beach located bottom left of the island and instead Odyssey has taken their place.
Snowheart and Master Splinter have been added as part of the mid-season v28.20 update. Solid Snake and April O’Neil joined in the previous v28.10 update by Epic Games.
There is considerably a lot less characters than in previous seasons. Chapter 4 Season 4 having 29 NPCs, and going even further back, Chapter 2 Season 6 had a sizeable 46 NPCs across the map.
There are also five types of High Society bosses roaming around the map. Here are their names along with the locations they usually spawn. Included next to their locations are also the Mythic items they drop, when eliminated. They are:
- Oscar – Spawns at Lavish Lair (drops Oscar’s Medallion and Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun)
- Nisha – Found at Grand Glacier (drops Nisha’s Medallion and Nisha’s Striker AR)
- Montague – Spawns at Grand Glacier (drops Montague’s Medallion and Montague’s Enforcer AR)
- Valeria – Found near the bottom of Fencing Fields (drops Valeria’s Medallion and Valeria’s Hyper SMG)
- Peter Griffin – Spawns at Snooty Steppes (drops Peter’s Medallion and Peter Griffin’s Hammer Pump Shotgun)

The five different Society Medallions received from defeating each boss in Fortnite Chapter 5.
Brand-new to this season is the addition of Society Medallions, which all of the above bosses are stated to drop after each are eliminated. Keep a Medallion in your inventory for your Shield to regenerate over time. The more Society Medallions in your inventory, the more Shield that will regenerate with each tick.
However, if you have a Society Medallion in your inventory, you’ll be marked on your opponents’ map, and the more Medallions you have, the more precise the radius of your exact location.
As always, it’s likely that Epic Games will add more NPCs as Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 progresses. We’ll keep this page updated as soon as that happens.
