What are Creator Made Islands in Fortnite and how to play them

Are you wondering what Creator Made Islands are in Fortnite and how you can play them?

Fortnite has finally dropped its massive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event into the game, with a whole heap of exciting additions.

TMNT’s Cowabunga event has introduced even more turtle-themed skins, four Mythic weapons, free rewards, and various Ooze War Quests. These included thirteen main quests, as well as eight bonus quests for players to complete and earn Ooze to exchange these for rewards.

The eight bonus tasks challenge players to “earn XP in Creator Made Islands.” As you earn more XP, you will be able to claim more Ooze as you reach each XP tier total. The first stage requires 65,000 XP to be earned and the final, eighth tier requires 520,000 XP in total to earn all the rewards.

Here’s what Creator Made Islands are and how you can play them for yourself in Fortnite Chapter 5.

What are Creator Made Islands in Fortnite?

Creator Made Islands refer to any Creative map within the game. These maps have not been created by the developer, Epic Games, but have been built with Creative 2.0 and UEFN by Fortnite players.

All maps made by Epic Games on the Discovery screen will show their logo in the top left corner.

You can easily check if the map is or is not a Creative map by looking at the thumbnail. If the level has an Epic Games logo in the top left of the thumbnail then it is not a player-made map, as shown above. Alternatively, if it doesn’t have the Epic Games logo then you can be sure it is a Creator Made Island.

Here are all the maps that are official Epic Games maps and not Creator Made Islands:
