Upcoming Project: The Wonder Fools
In an exciting turn of events, following his role as Kwon Seon-yul in Wonderful World, Cha Eun-woo is set to feature in a new fantasy adventure series titled The Wonder Fools. This project marks a refreshing departure from his typical romantic roles, promising to enrich his filmography further. He will star alongside notable actors Park Eun-bin and Kim Hae-sook, merging elements of comedy, action, and superhero genres, heightening fan enthusiasm.
The narrative, set in the fictional city of Haeseong in 1999, revolves around Eun Chae-ni (played by Park Eun-bin), who often finds herself in unpredictable situations.
Living with her grandmother, Kim Jeon-bok (portrayed by Kim Hae-sook), Chae-ni becomes embroiled in a mysterious incident granting her and two others—Son Kyeong-hoon (Choi Dae-hoon) and Kang Ro-bin (Im Seong-jae)—superpowers. However, their abilities come with complications, resulting in comedic chaos as they endeavor to shield their city from an impending criminal threat.
Cha Eun-woo will portray Lee Woon-jeong, a civil servant relocating from Seoul to Haeseong. Though principled and serious, his demeanor makes social connections challenging. As Haeseong grapples with a series of disappearances, Woon-jeong partners with Chae-ni to uncover the mystery, navigating various dangers in the process.
Meanwhile, the character Ha Won-do (Son Hyun-joo) conceals ulterior motives, adding layers to the storyline. Under the direction of Yoo In-sik, recognized for Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Vagabond, The Wonder Fools promises to deliver a unique twist on the superhero genre. Although Netflix has yet to confirm a release date, fans are eagerly anticipating Cha Eun-woo’s transformation in this forthcoming series.
