“We Gotta Save Them Kids”: Matt Lieb Alleges Harassment by Ethan Klein During CPS Controversy

Recently, Ethan Klein, the popular YouTuber and co-host of the H3H3 Show alongside his wife Hila, found himself embroiled in a contentious online feud with Matt Lieb, a comedian, writer, and actor based in Los Angeles. The conflict escalated when Ethan publicly accused Matt of being an active participant in the r/h3snark subreddit, a platform infamous for its critical discourse about the H3 Show.

This online dispute emerged against the backdrop of a troubling incident linked to Child Protective Services (CPS). A false report, purportedly originating from the snark community, led to CPS visiting Ethan’s home to investigate concerns regarding the welfare of his children.

In response to Ethan’s allegations, Lieb took to X, where he claimed to be subjected to 48 hours of harassment from Ethan:

“I’m 100% against anyone calling CPS on YouTubers they don’t like. *48 hours of being harassed by Ethan Klein later* We gotta save them kids.”

To provide some context, Ethan shared a screenshot in his Instagram story from a user named u/MattLieb, who has been an active member of both the r/h3snark and r/h3h3_productions subreddits, often engaging in discussions about harassment tactics.

Furthermore, in October 2024, Lieb had made satirical remarks on social media, taking jabs at Ethan:

“Ethan Klein is no more. I am Ethan Klein now.”

Ethan took a moment to discuss the CPS incident during episode 119 of his show. He recounted how his children had fallen ill with giardiasis and how the snark community twisted the narrative, falsely attributing their illness to alleged poor living conditions and ultimately leading to a CPS referral:

“It turned into this whole snark narrative that our house is a mess, that there’s dog sh*t everywhere, that Sunny is eating sh*t and getting giardiasis… Well it culminated, and somebody finally… an anonymous call um went into them on the 3rd saying that they were a somebody that works at the house wanted to report us.”(Timestamp – 3:53)

Upon the arrival of the CPS officials at Ethan and Hila’s home, they were briefed about the ongoing “harassment campaign”waged by r/h3snark against the couple. Ethan attempted to clarify his role as a content creator to the official, who reportedly had limited knowledge of the dynamics within the H3H3 community:

“I tried to explain that this is part of this harassment campaign, and we’ve been visited by the FBI, we’ve been swatted this and that, and we talked for a while. He gets it, but there’s certain things that I guess he has to do.”(Timestamp – 5:42)

Ultimately, Ethan and Hila asserted that the environment in which their children are raised is immaculate, dismissing concerns over their well-being at home.

In related news, streamer HasanAbi recently suggested that Ethan may have “hired people”to eliminate “pro-Hasan comments”from the YouTube video titled “Content Nuke – Hasan Piker”.
