The latest update, Warframe patch 38.5.4, serves as the fourth hotfix for the Techrot Encore expansion. This release notably suspends the less prominent Quality of Life feature concerning the Auto-Disband functionality for public matchmade squads across all platforms. Developers have decided to disable this feature temporarily to further evaluate its performance and make necessary adjustments. The rollback also addresses a bug that obstructed players from functioning normally after being auto-disbanded at mission’s end.
As a result of this change, players who enjoy teaming up with a friend will now need to either disband the entire squad and reinvite their companion after each mission or opt for the “Invite Only”mode. An alternative remains for those willing to embrace spontaneity, as public matchmaking will continue to pair players with new allies.
In addition to the suspension of the Auto-Disband feature, hotfix 38.5.4 introduces a blend of other enhancements and bug fixes, which refine the capabilities of the Temple character. Notably, Technocyte Coda duets will no longer generate in inaccessible tunnels. Below, you will find the complete changes as outlined in the official patch notes for Warframe’s hotfix 38.5.4.
Warframe Hotfix 38.5.4 Patch Notes

Noteworthy Changes:
- Temporarily disabled the “Auto-Disband Public Matchmade Squads”feature due to player issues after mission exits.
Developer Note: We aim to reassess this feature in our next Certification build, ensuring a stable reintroduction.
- The Hell-Scrubber speed-up mechanic in the Temporal Archimedea mode now simplifies the mission timer reduction to eliminating the designated Techrot Babau.
- Previously, Techrot Babau would drop a “Hell-Scrubber Detonator,”which needed to be transported to a Hell-Scrubber tower. This mechanic was often unclear, prompting a simplification to align with the Rogue Necramech Eximus functionality in Deep Archimedea.
- Increased the number of Backbeat beats for Temple’s Metronome sound effect from 3 to 4, providing more flexibility for players continuously activating Temple’s abilities.
- The sound effect will now trigger on the first successful Backbeat hit and sustain until no Ability has been cast on the Backbeat for 4 beats, correcting a previous misunderstanding regarding the duration.
- Additional sound effect polish has been applied to Temple’s abilities, along with an increase in the Metronome’s overall volume.
