Viral Rumor Debunked: Did Jimmy Kimmel Really Remove Karoline Leavitt from ‘The Tonight Show’?

In April 2025, misinformation began circulating on the internet regarding a supposed incident involving Jimmy Kimmel and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. This false narrative appears to have originated from a YouTube video released by the channel PawScribe on April 8, 2025.

“Karoline Leavitt Kicked Off Jimmy Kimmel’s Show After Fiery Confrontation!” the title of the video proclaimed.

The video quickly gained traction, accumulating over 73,000 views and spreading to various platforms, including TikTok and Facebook. However, this story has since been debunked. In reality, Jimmy Kimmel has never hosted Karoline Leavitt on his program, which is properly titled Jimmy Kimmel Live!, distinguishing it from The Tonight Show.

Furthermore, PawScribe’s channel description explicitly states that its content is “entirely fictional and crafted solely for entertainment.” This disclaimer suggests viewers should take the narratives with skepticism.

“Any resemblance to real events, individuals, or situations is purely coincidental and unintentional. These narratives are not intended to depict, reference, or represent any actual occurrences, persons, or entities,” the description continues.

In addition to the lack of factual basis, the video failed to provide concrete details regarding the alleged confrontation, such as broadcast timestamps or genuine footage of Kimmel interacting with Leavitt, further solidifying the myth’s fraudulent nature.

Clarifying the Misunderstanding: No Incident Occurred

Numerous other YouTube channels echoed the unfounded claim that Kimmel had removed Leavitt from his show. For example, the Elite Stories channel posted a video on April 12, 2025, with a sensational title:

“Karoline Leavitt Kicked Out of Jimmy Kimmel’s Show After Heated Argument – Full Breakdown.”

While this video garnered over 27,000 views, it, like others, offered no credible evidence to substantiate its story. Channels such as StarTalk Diaries, Stories of Soul, and Dio Confession Tales also propagated the false narrative without valid proof.

Fact-checkers from Snopes clarified that there has never been an episode where Jimmy Kimmel interviewed the US Press Secretary. They found no trace of Karoline Leavitt in the official guest lineup of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, nor were there any visual records of such interactions to reference.

Additionally, many videos exhibited signs of being computer-generated, featuring unrealistic representations of Kimmel and Leavitt. An example noted by Snopes involved the StarTalk Diaries video where Kimmel was depicted with six fingers.

Some titles included disclaimers about “altered or synthetic content,”leading Snopes to conclude these videos were likely created using artificial intelligence technology.

Moreover, on April 25, 2025, the Kaylow Official Facebook page shared misleading collages of Leavitt and Kimmel, insinuating that Leavitt revealed “bombshell secrets” that incited chaos during a live broadcast.

“What started as a routine interview turned into a jaw-dropping confrontation as Leavitt fearlessly dropped revelations that left the studio stunned—and sent shockwaves across social media. Did she go too far? Or did she finally say what others have been too afraid to speak out loud?” it claimed.

“The fallout could be massive, and the secrets she exposed might just be the tipping point that brings Kimmel’s career to the brink. The full story is nothing short of explosive,” the post concluded.

This discussion included links to the topnewsusnow.com site, which shared another inaccurate account titled, “Karoline Leavitt Abruptly Removed from Jimmy Kimmel Live After Revealing Explosive Secrets That Could End His Career.” This article further spread unverifiable claims.

Furthermore, the publication’s frequent misspelling of Leavitt’s name as “Caroline Levit,”among other glaring errors, suggests it was intended for comedic effect rather than factual reporting.

The narrative received dismissal from reliable sources, including Harrison Fields, Special Assistant and Principal Deputy Press Secretary for President Trump, who labeled it as “fake news” in correspondence with Snopes.

Notably, a similar rumor had emerged previously, alleging that Leavitt had a debate with Stephen Colbert during his late-night show, which was also debunked.

On a different note, Jimmy Kimmel recently gained recognition for his comedic critique regarding Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, which attracted significant attention online. Karoline Leavitt, for her part, remains engaged in the political sphere, vocally supporting the Trump administration and warning against noncompliance with executive orders.
