Valkyrae Discusses the Closure of Her Press ESC Podcast After 24 Episodes: “Need a Little Break”

Twitch sensation Rachell “Valkyrae”has made a significant announcement regarding her podcast, Press ESC, which she co-hosted with Lisa “Alythuh.”After launching the podcast back on October 13, 2024, the duo successfully delivered 24 engaging episodes, showcasing their chemistry and thoughtful discussions. By the time of their farewell episode, titled The End of Our Podcast, uploaded on April 6, 2025, their YouTube channel had amassed over 132,000 subscribers.

A Fond Farewell: Valkyrae and Alythuh’s Last Podcast Episode

On the day the final episode was released, Valkyrae expressed her thoughts during a live stream, addressing fans directly. She conveyed the emotional decision behind the show’s conclusion:

“Lisa and I uploaded our goodbye episode, our last episode for our podcast. I’m sure some of you saw it coming. It is an 18-minute video, we talk about a lot of the reasons why it isn’t gonna work out for the long run.”

Valkyrae also hinted at the possibility of a future revival of the podcast as a solo venture, saying:

“If/when I start it up again, I will definitely want Lisa on as a guest in the future but as of right now, I think I personally need a little break from it.”

Reasons Behind the Decision to Conclude the Podcast

The conclusion of Press ESC stems from various personal and professional challenges faced by its hosts. In their farewell episode, Alythuh revealed that her focus was being diverted from her own project, Tiny Protectors, due to commitments to the podcast:

“A lot of that (her project) was pushed to the side for the podcast. I was doing a lot of studying, my internal team was like, ‘Where were you for four months?’ because I wasn’t responding to them as much and unknowingly, I put my business to the side.”

Valkyrae echoed these sentiments, explaining that the demands of running the podcast while managing her own media company, Hihi Studios, made it difficult to balance her responsibilities:

“I can’t say what exactly is going on, but Hihi Studios, we have like four insane opportunities and business endeavors that are happening for the company and one of those things I put off for three months.”

Interestingly, during a recent stream, Valkyrae shared that she might consider collaborating with fellow streamer Imane “Pokimane”if the podcast experiences a revival. The potential future of Press ESC remains uncertain as fans await further updates on Valkyrae’s plans.
