Virginia Giuffre, widely known for her allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew, has recently reported a harrowing incident involving a serious car accident. In an Instagram update dated March 30, 2025, Giuffre disclosed that she is facing critical health issues, including kidney failure, as a consequence of the accident.
According to Giuffre’s post, a bus struck her vehicle while she was turning, an incident that she described as a traumatic event.
“This year has been the worst start to a new year … I won’t bore anyone with the details, but I think it’s important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn, no matter what your car is made of, it might as well be a tin can,”
“I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology,”
Giuffre’s representative, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed her hospitalization to The Independent, adding,
“Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital. She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending.”
A report from the Western Australia police confirmed a collision involving Giuffre’s car and a bus on March 24 at around 3 PM local time. They categorized it as a “minor crash,”with damages to her vehicle estimated at AUD 2,000. No injuries were reported, although Giuffre’s account contradicts the police’s assessment of the incident.
For context, Virginia Giuffre resides with her husband Robert in Ocean Reef, Perth. Her public battle and claims against influential figures have made her a significant figure in the ongoing discussions surrounding sexual abuse and accountability.
Understanding Virginia Giuffre’s Role in the Epstein Case
Giuffre became a prominent figure in the Jeffrey Epstein saga after filing a civil lawsuit in a New York federal court in 2021. She accused Epstein of coercing her into sexual encounters with Prince Andrew, stating these incidents transpired when she was just 17 years old. The British royal has firmly denied the allegations, contributing to one of the highest-profile controversies in recent history.
Born in California in 1983, Giuffre moved to Florida as a child. Her troubling past includes experiences of sexual abuse from a young age, leading to a tumultuous childhood spent in and out of foster care. In a 2019 BBC interview, she shared the lasting impact of being abused at age 7, describing the mental scars it left her with.
By the age of 14, Giuffre had lived on the streets until an encounter with Ghislaine Maxwell opened a new chapter in her life. Notably, she eventually worked as a locker room attendant at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where she alleges she was trained to be a massage therapist, leading to her first meeting with Epstein at his residence.
Giuffre’s connection with Prince Andrew dates back to 2001, when she was introduced to him at the age of 17. The legal battle regarding her allegations was settled in 2022 when Andrew reportedly paid her over £12 million, although he did not admit any wrongdoing.
Virginia Giuffre has been married to Robert since 2002, and together they have three children, lending a personal dimension to her public persona as a fierce advocate for survivors of abuse.
