Overview of Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots Announcement
- Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots will be available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
- This marks the inaugural appearance of the franchise on a Nintendo platform.
- Several other PlayStation series are also transitioning to the Nintendo Switch, but there’s no indication of plans for Xbox.
The gaming landscape is buzzing with the announcement of Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, confirming its arrival on various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. This represents a significant milestone as it is the first installment of the iconic PlayStation series to be released on a Nintendo console.
Initially introduced in 1997 on the PlayStation 1, the original Hot Shots Golf paved the way for nearly a dozen sequels, many of which are celebrated as the pinnacle of golf gaming.
During the Nintendo Direct event on March 27, the reveal trailer for Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots captivated audiences, reintroducing the beloved Hot Shots Golf brand, which had previously been confined to North America until 2011. Internationally, it was known as Everybody’s Golf. This upcoming title also marks a new collaboration with Japanese studio Hyde, renowned for developing Digimon Survive.
The Growing Presence of PlayStation Franchises on Nintendo Switch
In a noteworthy shift, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots will be published by Bandai Namco, diverging from the franchise’s historical association with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Bandai Namco previously brought another PlayStation title to the Switch in January 2025 with Freedom Wars Remastered. However, this was not the first PlayStation IP to land on Nintendo’s hybrid console; LEGO Horizon Adventures debuted just two months earlier.

PlayStation Titles Available on the Nintendo Switch
Game | Publisher | Release Date |
---|---|---|
LEGO Horizon Adventures | SIE | November 14, 2024 |
Freedom Wars Remastered | Bandai Namco | January 9, 2025 |
Patapon 1+2 Replay | Bandai Namco | July 11, 2025 |
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots | Bandai Namco | 2025 |
Bandai Namco is further enriching Nintendo Switch’s library with additional PlayStation games. During the Nintendo Direct on March 27, it was announced that Patapon 1+2 Replay—a remastered bundle of the initial titles in Sony’s acclaimed PSP rhythm game saga—will also launch on multiple platforms, including PS5 and PC. Unlike Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, Patapon 1+2 Replay already has a confirmed release date.
This influx of PlayStation titles onto the Switch, although not managed by Sony, signals a potential change in strategy, as the company appears to be more receptive to collaborations with Nintendo. However, there still seems to be no movement from Sony to publish titles on Xbox, viewing Microsoft as a competitive rival despite the latter’s recent struggles in the hardware market.
Pricing details for Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots remain undisclosed, yet expectations lean toward it being a full-priced offering. The game is currently available for wishlist on Steam and the PlayStation Store, though the eShop listing is still pending as of late March 2025.
