Inside Adair Werley’s Journey on Below Deck Down Under Season 3
The much-anticipated season 3 of Below Deck Down Under, which launched on Bravo on February 3, 2025, introduces an exciting array of new cast members, including Adair Werley as a promising Deckhand. Yet, Adair’s responsibilities extend beyond deck duties; she also steps in to assist in the galley, taking on various stew tasks.
Adair Werley’s Insights into Life on the Yacht
In a recent interview with US Weekly, published on March 17, 2025, Adair candidly shared her experiences during her inaugural season aboard the yacht. She revealed that viewers only get a glimpse of the crew’s dynamic, with much of their hard work remaining unseen. Adair emphasized the necessity for every crew member to adapt, stating, “We all have to pitch in and we all do everything. As you see, we’re understaffed and we are lacking people.”
“We all have to pitch in and we all do everything. As you see, we’re understaffed and we are lacking people,” she said.
The Dual Responsibilities of a Deck Stew
Throughout the interview, Adair elaborated on the unique obstacles she faced while balancing her dual roles—reporting to both Bosun Wihan du Toit and Chief Stew Lara Rigby. She approached her position with a willingness to assist wherever necessary, echoing the sentiment that every crew member is expected to contribute to the collective effort. Adair remarked that while joking about the arduous tasks, the reality is everyone must “do it all with a smile on your face.”
“As much as we sit and tease and laugh that, ‘Oh, I can’t do this or I don’t do that.’ You do it all with a smile on your face. And you do it for not only your crew but you do it for the guests and for the money,” she expressed. “So there’s a lot worse that I can do than cleaning heads and beds. There’s a lot worse. That’s the easy part.”
Navigating the Challenges of an Understaffed Crew
Adair reflected on the struggle to prioritize her duties amidst the demands from different department heads. She confessed to feeling overwhelmed as she balanced multiple tasks. “I think it was an imbalance of what my priorities were at the time. Because it’s like, ‘Do I go help out on deck? Do I go rinse off all of our beach setup stuff, help put things away, help lift the jet skis and help clean the deck for tomorrow? Or do I help serve plates and help with turndowns? Do I go to laundry and restock and clean the crew mess? What am I supposed to do?” she pondered.

This lack of clarity regarding her responsibilities added to Adair’s challenges, and she often felt unbalanced trying to please both department heads who frequently had conflicting expectations. Receiving criticism from leadership, despite her diligent efforts, was disheartening; yet, she commended her shipmates for their teamwork and solidarity during trying times.
