Ultimate Coda Motovore Build for Warframe

The Coda Motovore has emerged as Warframe’s newest hammer, introduced with the Infested Lich weapon series in the Techrot Encore update. This specific class of melee weapons often finds itself associated with slam-based configurations, something that the developers seek to adjust throughout the year. Fortunately, the Coda Motovore boasts unique capabilities that allow it to excel beyond typical slam builds.

This comprehensive guide will delve into the distinctive attributes of the Coda Motovore and outline an optimized build to unlock its full potential.

What Makes the Coda Motovore Unique in Warframe?

Generating significant excitement prior to its release, the Coda Motovore features an intriguing mechanic that alters its appearance based on the weight of its base damage in Impact, Puncture, and Slash (IPS). This functionality differentiates it from being a mere aesthetic addition; it allows the weapon to receive substantial enhancements through IPS mods.

Notably, the Coda Motovore receives a remarkable 6x boost from any mod that enhances physical damage within Warframe. For instance, utilizing Buzz Kill (which offers a base +120% Slash) translates to a staggering +720% Slash benefit for this hammer. Additionally, the weapon provides unique bonuses based on which physical damage type is highest:

  • Impact: +40% Attack Speed
  • Puncture: +1.5m Range
  • Slash: +100% Status Chance

For our optimal Coda Motovore build, we will focus on the Puncture attribute. While the +1.5m range might appear to be the least advantageous of the three buffs, selecting Puncture specifically complements the Melee Doughty Arcane introduced in the Warframe 1999 update.

Recommended Mods:

  • Stance Mod: Crushing Ruin
  • Exilus: Discipline’s Merit for a free heavy attack every few hits
  • Blood Rush (V forma)
  • Primed Pressure Point (V forma)
  • Augur Strike (Dash forma)
  • Jugulus Barbs (Dash forma)
  • Primed Reach or Primed Fury (V forma)
  • True Steel (consider Sacrificial Steel if you possess an Umbra Forma; Galvanized Steel is less effective)
  • Berserker Fury
  • Weeping Wounds

Arcane Consideration:

As indicated earlier, this Coda Motovore setup is designed around the Melee Doughty (Rank 5) Arcane. This enhancement provides a 1x increase to Critical Multiplier for every 10% Puncture Status chance dealt.

Build Insights

This configuration achieves a total of 192% Status Chance at 12x Combo with a dominant 90% emphasis on Puncture. This proportion leads to an approximate 16x boost to your Critical Multiplier, greatly augmenting the weapon’s effectiveness. We avoid using Organ Shatter as it only applies to the base 2.3x Critical Multiplier, contributing minimally.

Choosing a Progenitor

When selecting your progenitor, any option other than Impact will work well. Magnetic damage excels in managing Eximus units, while Electricity is another viable choice, especially if you plan to explore a Melee Influence build at some stage (though the recommended build here far surpasses it in performance).

Thanks to Valence Override’s capability to alter elemental properties (Elemental Vice), selecting a progenitor becomes an uncomplicated task.

Recommended Warframes

In terms of Warframe selection, a straightforward crit melee configuration best suits Kullervo. However, any Warframe that can withstand hits at your desired content level will be effective. Notable alternatives include Volt, Gauss, or Wisp for enhanced attack speed, and Saryn when equipped with a Helminth damage buff for maximizing damage output.

For those interested in a Slash build with Melee Influence, once again you’ll want to use an Electricity progenitor with the Coda Motovore. The modifications would involve:

  • Replacing Augur Strike with Buzz Kill
  • Exchanging Jugulus Barbs for Carnis Mandibles
  • Swapping Primed Reach with Weeping Wounds
  • Replacing True Steel with Melee Elementalist
  • Finishing up with Focus Energy in the last slot

Nevertheless, through rigorous testing, the Doughty build has proven to be significantly superior. While there are many melee weapons worth trying out with Influence, this one is not necessarily the top tier. If you’re looking for a more robust Coda weapon for Influence, consider the Coda Caustacyst introduced in batch B.
