Asmongold Sparks Controversy with Remarks on Trump’s Tactics
In a recent live stream on April 9, 2025, renowned Twitch streamer Asmongold stirred considerable debate by likening the political strategies of former U.S. President Donald Trump to those of the Mafia. During his commentary, Asmongold described Trump’s approach as “brutal,”suggesting it instills fear, functioning effectively as a “Mafia tactic.”
The clip quickly gained traction across social media platforms, thrusting the former One True King member into the limelight. The discussion arose while Asmongold analyzed Trump’s sway over the Republican Party. He asserted:
“He is as extreme and brutal as possible. It scares people, Mafia tactic. It’s a power dynamic, it works!”
Following this, Asmongold elaborated on his perspective, claiming that Trump’s intimidation tactics are rooted in understanding the psychological impact of “brutality.”He reflected on why certain notorious figures from history are remembered:
“It works. That’s why the people who did it back in the day, everybody still knows their names. It is because they were so brutal and so good at doing this that they killed anyone who got in their way.”
Accusations Against Destiny for Promoting Political Violence
Asmongold also addressed controversial comments made by fellow streamer Steven “Destiny”Bonnell during his broadcast, alleging that Destiny was inciting “political violence”against Trump. This assertion stemmed from a recent post by Destiny on X, where he urged the Secret Service to “step up and do their duty.”
Asmongold expressed concern about the implications of such statements, claiming they could endanger Destiny’s online presence. He articulated:
“Advocating for and talking about political violence and being violent, I think that is very dangerous. I think that he has done it so much recently that I feel like he is risking his entire internet presence on it.”
He further speculated on the potential consequences for Destiny’s career, warning that his online behavior could lead to a ban from platforms like YouTube:
“I don’t think he is that far off from getting banned from YouTube because of that. And I’m just being honest, right? You can’t go on YouTube and you can’t have all these statements like killing people and killing the president, beating people up, etc. Eventually, you’re going to get suspended for that, and you are going to get in trouble. And this is his job.”
For those unfamiliar, Asmongold revealed a few months ago that he has parted ways with the content creation group One True King.
