Skybound Entertainment has officially launched its much-anticipated Transformers campaign on Kickstarter, swiftly amassing a staggering $2.1 million in funds. This recent achievement builds on the impressive success of the previous year’s G.I. Joe campaign, which remains the platform’s highest-funded comic project with an astonishing total of $3.7 million.
According to a recent announcement on Instagram, the campaign hit its initial funding goal of $40,000 in just two minutes. As of now, the Kickstarter campaign has already surpassed $2.1 million within its first 48 hours, indicating a strong potential to surpass the milestone set by the G.I. Joe project.
This compendium aims to compile all the classic material from Marvel Comics and Marvel UK’s Transformers series into four hardcover volumes. Skybound promises an “ultimate reading experience,” featuring stories from legendary creators such as Simon Furman, Geoff Senior, and Andrew Wildman.

The trajectory of the Transformers Compendium indicates it may soon eclipse the G.I. Joe campaign, potentially earning the title of the most-funded comic project in Kickstarter history. This continues Skybound’s trailblazing efforts to reinvent both G.I. Joe and Transformers within the comic industry, with their current offerings under the Energon Universe banner achieving top sales in recent history for both franchises. By reviving the classic Marvel stories, Skybound is successfully honoring the legacy while paving the way for new adventures.
In addition to the comprehensive volumes, Skybound plans to offer the Transformers Compendiums for individual retail sale, with the first installment scheduled for release on June 10th, 2025.
This four-volume set will encompass an impressive array of material including Transformers #1-80, Transformers: The Movie #1-3, and Transformers: G2 #1-12, alongside all original Marvel UK content. Each compendium will be beautifully presented in a slipcover featuring newly crafted artwork by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer, available in both “Autobot” and “Decepticon” designs. Additional perks include “Tech Spec Cards” that provide insights into classic Transformers characters, complemented by a special red lenticular decoder card featuring new illustrations from industry icons.
