Progressing through the Slab in Destiny 2: Heresy can be a formidable challenge for players. There are currently two distinct versions of the Slab, each necessitating unique experience points (EXP) for progression. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts available, and every player is required to participate in seasonal activities to maximize their reputation level in both Slab paths. However, there are strategies you can implement to ensure more efficient leveling.
This guide will explore the most effective methods to enhance your Slab leveling in Destiny 2, as several pieces of content remain inaccessible until you achieve the maximum reputation in each Slab path. The tips provided will be applicable to both the Resolve and Ambition paths. Be sure to switch to the desired Slab path before accumulating EXP.

1) Collect Metastasized Essentia
Metastasized Essentia are prevalent collectibles found during the Nether activity. To begin, access the Slab and equip the “Essentia Rune”upgrade from the Runic Enhancements menu. When spawned in any of the four initial regions, deploy your Ghost equipped with the Wombo Detector mod and locate the collectible symbol.
After collecting a Metastasized Essentia, exit to Orbit. The Essentia Rune upgrade will yield an Essentia as a reward due to your activity failure upon exit. By repeating this cycle—spawn into the Nether, collect an Essentia, and return to Orbit—you can accumulate a significant number of these collectibles.
Once you have collected enough Essentia, return to Eris’s Flat and locate the Taken Altar to deposit your items. For every ten Metastasized Essentia you turn in, you’ll receive 200 EXP. Keep in mind that leveling your Slab requires a total of 1000 EXP per level, so plan your runs accordingly.
2) Participate in The Nether Expert
The Nether provides an excellent opportunity to earn substantial EXP, especially when completing an entire region. Utilizing the in-game Fireteam Finder can help connect with other players who are equally eager to quickly progress through this activity.
3) Engage in Court of Blade Expert
Similar to The Nether, you can leverage the Fireteam Finder to solo run through all bosses in the Court of Blade activity. You can also optimize your efficiency by timing your runs during the “Wrathborn”boss rotations, as these bosses generally have a lower health pool compared to the Dread and Taken bosses.
Aside from providing the necessary EXP to level up your Slab reputation, Expert activities also reward players with Adept weapons, delivering both high-tier loot and significant experience points.
