Tom Everett Scott Joins Amazon’s ‘Elle,’ the Prequel to ‘Legally Blonde’

Exciting Additions to the Cast of Prime Video’s *Elle*

Prime Video is expanding the roster for its upcoming *Legally Blonde* prequel titled *Elle*, which will delve into the formative high school years of the beloved character Elle Woods, portrayed by Lexi Minetree.

Meet the New Cast Member

Joining the cast is Tom Everett Scott, known for his role in *The Summer I Turned Pretty*. In this series, he takes on the role of Wyatt, Elle’s father, sharing screen time with June Diane Raphael, who plays Elle’s mother, Eva.

A Star-Studded Production Team

Prime Video greenlit *Elle* for a full series in May 2024. The creative team is led by Laura Kittrell, celebrated for her work on *Insecure* and *High School*, who will co-showrun alongside Caroline Dries, known for her involvement in *The Vampire Diaries* and *Batwoman*. The production is backed by Reese Witherspoon, who famously portrayed Elle Woods in the original *Legally Blonde* films, along with Lauren Neustadter. They are executive producers through their company, Hello Sunshine, collaborating with established producer Marc Platt. The project is developed under Amazon MGM Studios.

Tom Everett Scott’s Impressive Career

Currently appearing in *The Summer I Turned Pretty*, Scott’s latest role is in the show’s third and final season, set to premiere in July on Prime Video. His diverse television credits also include *13 Reasons Why* and *I’m Sorry*. In film, he is recognized for performances in classics such as *That Thing You Do!*, *Because I Said So*, and *La La Land*. Scott is represented by Gersh and John Carrabino Management.
