Bethesda Confirms Ongoing Work on The Elder Scrolls 6
In a highly anticipated announcement, Todd Howard, the studio head and creative director at Bethesda, has reiterated the company’s commitment to developing The Elder Scrolls 6. This much-awaited addition to the popular fantasy RPG series has been shrouded in mystery since it was first mentioned during the now-defunct E3 in 2018.
During the recent reveal of the much-anticipated Oblivion Remastered on the Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel, Howard stated, “Obviously, we’re still working on the sixth chapter.” His comments transitioned into a broader reflection on the storied legacy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.
“Obviously, we’re working on the sixth chapter here, but what’s great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters – Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena. Each of them tries to define roleplaying games and open-world games for their generation.”
Although Howard’s statement lacked specifics, it hints at Bethesda’s ambitious vision for the future of The Elder Scrolls series. Each installment has set a benchmark in gaming, suggesting that TES 6 will follow suit and continue to redefine the role-playing genre upon its eventual release.
