The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has recently been released on PC, bringing with it a wealth of new content, including cosmetic upgrades and additional characters for the No Return mode. This roguelike survival experience introduces permanent death, raising the stakes for players. Among the updates is a fresh set of trophies, including one tantalizing trophy titled This Make You All Nostalgic?, which requires players to meet certain challenges.
This guide is designed to assist you in obtaining this new trophy. While trophy hunting may not be considered the most relaxing hobby and can sometimes be time-consuming, the sense of accomplishment from completing a demanding task can be deeply rewarding.
Navigating Challenges to Unlock the Trophy in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
The trophy in question necessitates overcoming specific challenges featuring Bill and Marlene, who are the latest characters available in the No Return mode. While players might expect to access these characters immediately following the update on PlayStation 5 or PC, they must first undertake a series of challenges to unlock them.
Your first character to unlock will be Marlene. To proceed, you’ll need to successfully complete her initial challenges in order to gain access to Bill. The initial task is quite straightforward: you simply need to complete five gambits. Importantly, it is not required to finish this challenge in one go; however, accomplishing it in a single run could conserve your time.
Gambits serve as extra challenges, which, when completed, provide bonuses such as additional ammunition, health supplies, or currency for trading posts. After overcoming Marlene’s first challenge, you’ll face the next requirement to complete three dead drops. For this task, you must use blue mailboxes to deposit the specified items, rewarding you with weapons or training pamphlets at your base.
Strategies for Successfully Completing the Final Two Challenges
The subsequent challenges may be familiar but can elevate stress levels significantly. As Marlene, you’ll be tasked with completing five gambits in a single run—a death during this attempt means starting over. It is advisable to tackle this challenge on an easier difficulty level, which will make foes less aggressive and resources more plentiful.
While some gambits are manageable, others may place you in challenging situations. For example, one gambit requires eliminating two enemies using momentum. To give yourself an advantage, refrain from purchasing player upgrades within this category to maintain an easier challenge. Once you’ve successfully completed Marlene’s challenges, you can move on to Bill’s, which also offers a relatively smooth experience thanks to the initial crafting supplies available.
Dead drops can only be accessed within the following challenge modes:
- Hunted
- Assault
- Holdout
As a smuggler, Bill starts with materials to create a med kit and a trap mine. On the easiest difficulty setting, you’ll be required to find items that can be crafted right away, while you work to either escape pursuers or eliminate all enemies to progress. Avoid selecting challenges with Capture objectives, as this enhances the likelihood of discovering dead drops.
Upon successfully depositing the necessary items into your last dead drop, the trophy will unlock automatically. It’s worth noting that the challenges can become repetitive and more difficult, especially for those daring enough to try harder difficulty settings such as Survivor or Grounded.
For players focused on achieving 100% completion, there is no shame in completing these challenges at lower difficulty levels to streamline the process.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
