The First Descendant offers players an array of methods to enhance their Descendants and improve weapon capabilities. In Season 2, Episode 2, the game introduces a pivotal feature known as Arche Tuning. This new system is designed to specifically bolster the abilities of individual Descendants, complementing existing gameplay elements such as Inversion Reinforcement.
Unlocking Arche Tuning in The First Descendant

To gain access to Arche Tuning, players must first complete the “Into the Storm”main quest, which guides you through the Sigma Sector for the first time. Upon successful completion, the Arche Tuning system will be unlocked, along with a tutorial that outlines its fundamental mechanics.
If you find yourself without this quest, continue advancing through the main storyline. Progression through the Fortress zone will eventually unlock seasonal content, including the Arche Tuning feature.
Once the tutorial quest is completed, players can find the Arche Tuning interface within the inventory menu or via the Prime Hands located in Albion. This system functions as a node board where you can activate nodes to provide permanent buffs to your Descendants. To unlock new nodes, level up the Arche Factor, which will grant you Arche Tuning points. Importantly, you can only select nodes that are directly adjacent to those already activated, allowing you to move towards powerful Ultimate buffs located at the edges of the board.
Leveling Up Arche Tuning in The First Descendant

To enhance your Arche Factor and accumulate points, players need to earn Arche Factor EXP. It’s important to note that the Arche Factor level and Arche Tuning progress are specific to each Descendant, requiring players to grind for EXP on every character intended for strengthening. The only exceptions to this are Ultimate Descendants, who share progression with their base forms. For instance, enhancing Freyna’s Arche Factor will also bolster Ultimate Freyna’s level.
Players can amass Arche Factor EXP through various endgame activities in The First Descendant. Whether you’re unlocking a Fellow or diving into the latest content, you can simultaneously accumulate Arche Factor EXP.
Here’s a comprehensive list of sources from which players can earn Arche Factor EXP:
- Normal difficulty Sigma Sector
- High-risk difficulty Sigma Sector
- Hard difficulty Void Vessel
- Void Erosion
- 400% difficulty Infiltration Operations
The optimal location for farming Arche Factor EXP is the Sigma Sector, where players can also receive bonus EXP for completing each zone on high-risk difficulty for the first time daily. Additionally, players can acquire the Unique Arche Factor EXP Gain booster by exchanging High-Value Relics obtained from the Sigma Sectors at Reina in Albion. Missions in the Sigma Sector also present opportunities to collect materials for crafting the Serena shotgun, Truly Deadly Arson assault rifle, and A-TAMS sniper rifle.
