The Bachelorette Star Jenn Tran Reveals Most Patients are Unaware of Her Reality TV Career

In a recent exclusive conversation with People magazine, Jenn Tran, the star of Season 21 of The Bachelorette, opened up about her experiences balancing reality television and her medical aspirations. The interview, published on March 29, 2025, took place during the prestigious Cape Radiance Gala red carpet event in Los Angeles on March 24. Tran, who showcased her skills on Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars, discussed returning to her studies as a physician assistant (P.A.) and the intriguing reactions from her patients regarding her reality show past.

Jenn Tran’s Return to Medical Training

When asked if her patients recognized her from television, Tran expressed her surprise:

“It is kind of weird, surprisingly, no. I was actually really nervous about that, because I was like, ‘Oh, what is that gonna be like and how is that gonna affect the provider-patient relationship,'” she shared.

To her relief, Tran revealed that many of her patients had not been exposed to her television work.

“But the hospitals that I’ve been working at, a lot of them haven’t seen The Bachelor or Bachelorette or Dancing with the Stars. It’s a safe space,” she noted.

Tran resumed her medical training in Miami after a year-long hiatus dedicated to filming The Bachelorette. She expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with patients:

“I now live in Miami, just moved back, saw my first few patients the other day back in the hospital. I’m very excited. It’s been incredible,” she shared.

Balancing Reality TV Fame with a Medical Career

The year off from school was a significant period for Tran, who is now focused on academia after completing her reality TV commitments. She initially worried how her celebrity status might influence her interactions with patients.

However, she confirmed that her current work environment remains a supportive “safe space,” where patient care is the primary focus.

Sasha Farber and Future Reality TV Plans

During the Cape Radiance Gala, Tran made headlines alongside her Dancing with the Stars partner, Sasha Farber, igniting discussions about their relationship dynamics post-show. Although their on-stage chemistry was palpable, Tran reassured fans that they are taking things slow.

“We’re not in a rush. We’re just taking it one day at a time,” she shared.

Regarding her future in reality television, Tran affirmed that her education is now her main priority:

“Reality TV is taking a back seat to school. No more hiatuses from P.A. school, I promised my mom. But after P.A. school, we’ll see,” she explained.

Tran has reiterated her commitment to her studies previously, emphasizing her dedication to completing her education without any further interruptions. While she remains open to the idea of returning to television, her current focus is firmly set on becoming a certified physician assistant.

For fans eager to catch up on Tran’s time on The Bachelorette, the episodes are currently available for streaming on ABC.
