“Teflon Queen!”: Kody’s Treatment of Janelle from Sister Wives May Backfire with Season 20 Cast Shakeup (She Could Become the Main Star, Stealing the Spotlight from Kody & Robyn)

Sister Wives star Kody Brown has often referenced a “karmic connection”with Janelle Brown, yet his past remarks indicate that he may not have treated her with the respect she deserves. Janelle has demonstrated remarkable resilience, particularly after experiencing the loss of her son Garrison, a tragedy that Kody is also grappling with. As she embarks on a journey of self-discovery with a new business venture and a commitment to personal well-being, she could become a central figure in a potential season 20 of Sister Wives.

Throughout this difficult period, Janelle has remained a steadfast emotional anchor for her children and friends while prioritizing her own needs and desires.

However, some of Kody’s comments about Janelle, including labeling her as the “teflon queen,”have raised eyebrows. Such remarks seem especially harsh considering she managed to navigate the challenges of a global pandemic essentially on her own. With Kody sequestered with Robyn Brown and their kids, Janelle faced the task of caring for her children, who were missing their father. Although Kody imposed strict COVID-19 guidelines, Janelle was simply adhering to CDC recommendations. Interestingly, her son Paedon has stated that Kody chose not to even get vaccinated against the virus.

Kody’s Misdeeds May Cast A Long Shadow

Maybe Janelle Is The Right Choice As A Main Star

As Janelle endures the pain of losing her son amidst overwhelming isolation, it seems vital for Kody to adopt a more empathetic approach toward her. During season 18 of Sister Wives, Janelle opted to distance herself from Kody, a decision that should not come as a shock given Kody’s past criticisms of her character. Prioritizing her own well-being surrounded by loving individuals is essential for Janelle’s happiness. Here are some of Kody’s more disparaging comments about her:

  • “Lazy”– Kody accused Janelle of being unmotivated to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
  • “Full of sh*t”– He expressed disbelief regarding Janelle’s attempts to mend relations between him and their sons.
  • “Undermines!”– Kody charged that Janelle interfered with his relationships with their sons, Gabe Brown and the late Garrison.

While it’s common in relationships to say hurtful things out of frustration, Kody appears to have ongoing issues with Janelle. Their attempts to recapture the feelings of a “first date”seem strained, given their extensive shared history. There comes a point when consistent criticism can lead someone to emotionally disengage.

I find it hard to believe that Janelle is solely responsible for Kody’s estrangement from his children, especially since he has made similar accusations against Christine. Kody must acknowledge his role in these dynamics. His stance that children should initiate reconciliation is troubling and raises concerns among parents who understand the necessity of fostering strong bonds. Ultimately, as parents, it is our duty to nurture and maintain relationships with our children, not place that burden on them.

Although Janelle focuses on her healing, it’s clear that she remains waiting for closure.

Perhaps it’s time for a cast refresh to alter the dynamics of the series. Kody and Robyn seem stuck in a cycle of resentment concerning Coyote Pass and other unresolved tensions. I believe they genuinely love each other, and maybe they should devote time to their relationship while allowing the ex-wives to step into the spotlight. Having undergone significant personal growth, the women deserve more airtime in this evolving narrative.

The previous format placed Kody at the center, with the Brown women orbiting around him. However, many of these women have shifted their focus to their own lives and aspirations, and it is essential that they enjoy their autonomy during this transformative period. Kody and Robyn’s repetitive conflicts cast a shadow over what could be engaging storytelling about personal journeys and self-discovery. Their current narrative trajectory appears fixated on blame rather than recognizing how their actions contributed to familial rifts.

Janelle Could Bring New Energy To The Show

She’s Trying To Change Her Life

While Kody and Robyn certainly inject drama into Sister Wives, there is potential for a richer narrative. Janelle, shown in a relaxed yet contemplative state on her Instagram, could serve as a beacon of inspiration. Her journey to confront and navigate life’s challenges presents an incredible opportunity to foster empathy and connection. The dramatic turn in her story since leaving Kody positions her as the ideal candidate to lead a reimagined Sister Wives.
