Supercell Removes Banner Tokens from Clash Royale

In a recent announcement on its official X page, Supercell confirmed the impending removal of Banner Tokens from Clash Royale. First introduced during the June 2022 Summer Update, these tokens allowed players to unlock Banner Boxes that contained customizable items for their Battle Banners. These banners are not only a key part of a player’s profile but also appear during the battle loading screens.

According to the developers, the retirement of Banner Tokens is slated for the upcoming April Update 2025. This decision was discussed in the latest episode of TV Royale, where the team revealed that they are also planning to retire Chest Timers and other features within the game.

Upcoming Changes: The End of Banner Tokens

As part of the April Update set to launch on March 31, 2025, Supercell has indicated that all players’ Banner Tokens will be converted into Gold. Specifically, players can expect a conversion rate where 100 Banner Tokens equate to 2,000 Gold. Notably, players can convert a maximum of 2,000 Banner Tokens, allowing for a total potential conversion of 40,000 Gold.

Post-update, Banner Tokens will no longer be available in the Season Shop. However, players can still acquire Frames and Decorations through various in-game events such as Challenges, Lucky Drops, and as rewards from Pass Royale. These items will also remain purchasable from the in-game Shop.

What’s New in the April Update 2025?

During the recent TV Royale episode, developers detailed several exciting changes coming in the Clash Royale April Update 2025. Along with the removal of Chest Timers and the Season Shop, the team also introduced a new Evolution for the Executioner troop. This upgraded version will grant the Executioner the ability to push back enemies, enhancing its strategic value during battles.

The episode also teased the introduction of a new hero, the Boss Bandit, alongside additional gameplay features. These changes are part of Supercell’s ongoing commitment to refresh and enhance the Clash Royale experience, ensuring engaging content for its player community.
