Split Fiction Notebook Side Quest Guide and Walkthrough

Hazelight Studios has recently released its engaging co-op game, Split Fiction, which includes a variety of captivating side quests. If you’re looking for an enjoyable distraction from the main storyline, we highly recommend diving into the Notebook side quest. However, players need to progress to a specific point in the game to access this quest.

The Notebook quest becomes available in the fourth chapter, Final Dawn. Fortunately, this quest isn’t time-sensitive and can be revisited later through the chapter selection feature. During this segment, players will experience exciting 2D platforming in a creatively crafted, pencil-drawn world where the mission involves rescuing a prince. Let’s explore the steps to successfully complete this quest in Split Fiction.

Walkthrough for the Notebook Side Quest

To unlock the Notebook side quest, you must first defeat the Overseer. Upon conquering this challenging enemy, both you and your co-op partner will gain access to jetpacks. Exit the battle area, and once you are in front of the spinning wheel, use your jetpack to ascend to the platform on your right. Here, you’ll discover a translucent, floating bubble. Interact with it to officially begin the Notebook quest.

After being teleported to this new pencil-drawn realm, you’ll encounter the first puzzle presented by a monster who will pose a riddle. Regardless of your answer, the floor will collapse, leading to a fall. At this moment, Mio will transform into a horse, allowing Zoe to ride her as you both navigate to a gate that Zoe will unlock.

Continuing your adventure, you’ll arrive at a mountain where you must avoid falling boulders as you climb toward the summit. Your journey will then lead you into a dark cave. Proceed cautiously, evading spikes along your path, until you reach the boss battle stage.

Here, you will have the choice to select your foe: a demon, a crab, or a duck. If you opt for either the crab or the duck, the fight will be interrupted mid-way, forcing you to fight the demon. Conversely, choosing the demon allows you to battle it without any interruptions.

Upon defeating your chosen boss, you will be tasked with rescuing the prince using your bow and arrow. Note that one player will need to carry him on their back. As you continue forward, keep an eye out for a massive ship docked on the shore.

Once you successfully escort the prince to the ship, you will be teleported back to the arena of the main quest, signaling the conclusion of the Notebook side quest.
