After experiencing a glitch in the Worlds Apart chapter, Zoe and Mio unexpectedly find themselves sharing the same chaotic world—an ever-shifting landscape rife with dangers. Initially taken aback by the sudden changes, the heroines quickly gather their composure, understanding that this unpredictable environment is temporary. They cleverly utilize lily pads to navigate away from perilous pools teeming with piranhas.

As they progress, Rader reappears, intensifying the tension. The primary strategy for survival in this chaotic realm is for the heroines to consistently evade threats while running in circles until Rader tires of the chase.

Navigating the Cross Section: Strategies for Success

As in prior subchapters, players can view the action from above, enabling them to anticipate Rader’s onslaughts. Rader will unleash black holes that create deadly traps filled with grinders, ravenous piranhas, and scorching lava pools. To succeed, avoid the landing zones of these hazards, which will eventually lead to another area drawn from Zoe’s imaginative narratives.

As the gameplay unfolds, the screen becomes segmented into four parts. Players must maneuver clockwise until it condenses into two sections, ultimately revealing new environments reminiscent of science fiction with metal containers alongside the previously seen fantasy-inspired lily pads. Rader’s relentless pursuit will lead him to crush the screen, catapulting the heroines into the next subchapter.

Although Cross Section is a shorter segment, it is a technical achievement, merging different worlds into a singular experience. Rader remains a formidable adversary, intent on thwarting Zoe and Mio’s efforts to expose his dubious schemes.

This subchapter offers a brief yet engaging respite from the tensions of earlier phases, paving the way for what lies ahead—a confrontation with Rader in the upcoming Fight a God chapter.

Split Fiction is currently accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC platforms.
