Controversy erupted when American rapper Soulja Boy reacted to a significant $4.25 million judgment against him in a s*xual assault lawsuit. The ruling followed a jury’s decision in favor of an unidentified woman who alleged that Soulja Boy engaged in s*xual battery and abuse.
As reported by BBC News on April 11, 2025, the case has attracted widespread attention due to the severity of the accusations. Shortly after the verdict, Soulja Boy took to Instagram Live to voice his thoughts, labeling the entire situation as a scam and suggesting that he was being targeted by influential figures in the entertainment industry.
The Art of Dialogue shared a snippet of his Live session on X, wherein Soulja Boy made dramatic comparisons:
“Soulja Boy says the illuminati is coming for him, calls his s*xual assault case a scam, and compares his legal situation to Michael Jackson, Diddy, Bill Cosby, and R. Kelly.”
During the Live discussion, the rapper portrayed himself as a victim of the “Illuminati industry.”He emphatically denied the allegations against him, asserting:
“They over there scamming sh*t though… I ain’t never did no weird sh*t in my whole life. They mad at me… Illuminati industry sh*t coming for me…”
Questioning the integrity of the civil lawsuit, he pointed out that the absence of criminal charges indicated a flawed legal framework. He provocatively stated:
“If I really s*xually upset a b*tch, why ain’t I in jail then? … Go tell the police to come lock me up… Lying a** b*tch.”
Additionally, he expressed his discontent with what he perceived as racial bias within the judicial system, claiming a jury composed mostly of older white individuals made it difficult for him to receive a fair trial:
“The system is broken n*gga… It was like 11 white folks, they was all 70 years old… I am not standing a chance,”he asserted.
In his defense, Soulja Boy resorted to comparisons with other Black celebrities facing legal disputes, suggesting that he was another victim of a systemic effort to target successful Black men:
“They did it to Michael Jackson. They did it to P Diddy. They did it to R Kelly. They did it to Bill Cosby. They tried to do something to everybody in the industry,”he stated, suggesting that all prominent figures in entertainment encounter similar lawsuits.
Allegations of Abuse: Anonymous Woman Speaks Out

The allegations against Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, stem from a 2021 lawsuit filed by a woman who accused him of repeated abuses over an extended period. According to the same BBC report, the woman claimed to have worked as Soulja Boy’s personal assistant since 2018. She contended that the abuse began shortly after their professional relationship turned intimate, leading to a pattern of violence and s*xual assault.
Describing her traumatic experience, the woman recounted feeling dehumanized as a result of the rapper’s actions:
“I didn’t even feel human anymore… felt like an animal,”she said.
Details within the court files revealed disturbing text messages from Soulja Boy, included phrases suggesting extreme hostility:
“I hope u die slow.”
“I hope you catch corona.”
“I should have killed your a**.”
Despite Soulja Boy’s claims that the woman engaged with him solely for personal gain, exchanging services for rolling marijuana, her attorney, Ronald Zambrano, emphasized that the rapper never explicitly denied the serious allegations made against him.
Currently, the 34-year-old artist is promoting his music, having recently released a single titled Broke Boy on March 13, 2025.
