Quick Navigation
In “Solo Leveling Ragnarok,”Jinwoo is active and battling formidable godly entities known as Itarim. However, the spotlight of this sequel rests on his son, Sung Suho. Having endured a childhood largely devoid of parental presence, Suho’s fate shifts drastically when Beru, the Ant King, reveals the truth about his father. This revelation spurs Suho into intense training under Beru’s mentorship, aiming to match, or even exceed, Jinwoo’s legendary power.
Inheritance of Powers from Jinwoo
Clarification on Shadow Monarch Status

Sung Suho was born into a legacy, emerging after Jinwoo ascended as the new Shadow Monarch, previously held by Ashborn. Naturally, he acquired some of his father’s remarkable abilities. Jinwoo, wishing for Suho to have a normal upbringing, initially suppressed these powers. However, an attack by Apostles catalyzes Suho’s awakening of his abilities, coinciding with Beru’s arrival, who enlightens Suho about his father’s existence.
While Jinwoo battles the Itarim in outer space, Beru is actively training Suho through the System. Before his ascension, Jinwoo amassed an impressive arsenal of abilities via the System; hence, Suho is likely to follow suit. As Jinwoo’s offspring, Suho has inherited skills like Ruler’s Authority, Detoxification, and Shadow Exchange, mirroring the powers that Jinwoo once wielded. This naturally leads to speculation: Will Suho eventually inherit the complete might of the Shadow Monarch? The reality, however, is more complex.
Sung Suho reflects, “My mother used to always tell me that I was becoming like my father quite well… so how would he have escaped this feeling of helplessness…?”Despite sharing Jinwoo’s skills, Suho’s path diverges from becoming the next Shadow Monarch. For this to occur, Jinwoo would have to relinquish his powers—a scenario that currently seems improbable. Having attained true immortality and ceaselessly entrenched in combat, Jinwoo is, unsurprisingly, not departing from the narrative.
Moreover, with the escalating threat presented by the Itarim, Jinwoo intentionally sends Beru to aid in Suho’s combat training, desiring Suho’s strength as an ally in his ongoing struggles. The idea of Jinwoo fading into the background, akin to Ashborn, while birthing an untested heir to combat the Itarim, lacks merit. Instead, there exists a captivating plan for Suho to become a Monarch.
Inheriting Powers of Another Monarch
The Logical Path to Becoming the Monarch of Destruction

Within the “Solo Leveling”universe, Jinwoo stands as the pinnacle of power. If Suho were to inherit the Shadow Monarch’s abilities, he would merely become a replica of his father, which is not conducive to developing Suho’s narrative in the sequel. However, the question lingers: how can Suho gain credibility among fans without surpassing Jinwoo’s prowess? To achieve this, a transformation into a Monarch is essential.
A promising alternative is the embodiment of Antares, the Monarch of Destruction, who ranked just below Ashborn in strength. Antares possessed the capability to obliterate entire planets, and, but for Ashborn, might have decimated the Rulers. This context positions the narrative of Suho ascending as the Monarch of Destruction as not only sensible but essential. By acquiring Antares’s abilities alongside his inherited powers, Suho has the potential to not only rival Jinwoo but perhaps even surpass him—a thrilling development for fans of the series.
Ultimately, Jinwoo maintains a role as the Shadow Monarch while Suho rises as the Monarch of Destruction, ensuring both characters remain integral to the storyline. As part of this plan, Jinwoo brings Antares back into existence within Ragna’s body. Although Antares controls Ragna through mana, his role reflects Jinwoo’s clever manipulation of the situation. As a result, Antares is now guiding Suho through the System, preparing him for the monumental task ahead. All fans can do is await Suho’s completion of his training, where he will stand alongside the Shadow Monarch against the Itarim forces.
