Another Crab’s Treasure is set to launch its much-anticipated Year of the Crab update on April 21, marking a significant milestone in the game’s journey since its release. This free update is a part of the celebrations for the game’s first anniversary, also coinciding with the announcement of physical versions coming in 2025 from developer Aggro Crab.

In a year filled with game releases, Another Crab’s Treasure has distinguished itself in the soulslike genre. Unlike many of its counterparts that lean toward darker aesthetics, Aggro Crab’s inventive third-person adventure stands out with its vibrant and colorful design. Players have been captivated by the challenging gameplay it offers, where undersea-themed bosses and poignant themes of ocean pollution create a compelling narrative. This effective combination has led the game to exceed 500,000 copies sold, showcasing its wide appeal.

To build upon this success, Aggro Crab is launching the Year of the Crab update, which features the highly requested New Game Plus mode. Unlike typical iterations seen in other games, this mode promises a fresh experience with new boss moves and items, as well as a substantial remix of nearly every enemy encounter. Gamers can look forward to experiencing New Game Plus on Xbox, PS5, and PC from April 21, with a Switch version expected shortly thereafter.
