As Suits LA continues to progress through its inaugural season, it is beginning to embrace one of the hallmark features of the franchise: romance. Longtime enthusiasts of the original Suits series will recall that the show was not solely focused on legal matters; it also prominently highlighted the intricate relationships among its characters. Memorable romances, such as the slow build-up between Harvey Specter and Donna Paulsen and the ultimately destined union of Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, contributed to the series’ enduring appeal during its initial run.
In the aftermath of Suits LA episode 5, the show has started to hint at emerging romantic plotlines while simultaneously developing its ensemble cast. Lex Scott Davis, portraying Erica Rollins, shared insights during an exclusive interview with ScreenRant regarding potential romantic developments and what lies ahead for her character and her colleagues.
Lex Scott Davis Previews Suits LA Season 1, Episode 6’s Lester Trial
“This Is A Make-Or-Break Situation For The Firm Too”

Lex Scott Davis: I can’t reveal too much, but there are some surprises in store with the trial. I’m going to leave it at this: it’s a crucial situation for the firm as well. There’s a lot hinging on this for the success of Ted Black & Associates. Ultimately, this story is just as much about Ted as it is about Lester—if he can successfully navigate this, the firm’s survival is at stake.
Lex Scott Davis On Suits LA Season 1 Getting More Personal With Erica
“It’s The Eighth Episode Where We’ll Step Into Her Personal Life A Little Bit”

Viewers have been eagerly anticipating a deeper exploration of character narratives, particularly in examining the personal lives of the original show’s cast. Will we see a similar depth for Erica Rollins as the season unfolds?
Lex Scott Davis: Absolutely, we’ll get more glimpses into her life. Specially, Erica, alongside Ted, will have family moments—like when her mom comes back. These interactions allow us to understand her character more fully, revealing how she navigates her personal challenges and the shifts between her life at home and at the office. Expect to see a different side of Erica quite soon.
Which specific episode can fans look forward to for this personal insight into Erica?
Lex Scott Davis: Look out for Episode 8. I can’t recall the exact title, but it’s the episode where we’ll delve into her personal life.
Lex Scott Davis On Suits LA Season 1’s Romance Status
“It’s Definitely How A Lot Of Us Are Reading Into It”

Lex Scott Davis: There’s a lot of flirting happening among the characters! I often have to clarify before a scene starts, ‘Am I flirting or is this strictly professional?’ It could go either way, and honestly, that makes for some humorous moments. I don’t think that ambiguity is intentional, but it definitely reflects how many of us are interpreting the scene. As the only woman speaking with a group of men, it’s amusing to navigate who is off-limits and who isn’t!
There are moments when it feels like Erica and Rick share a spark, yet another week, it could seem like Ted and Erica are connecting. It’s quite a playful dynamic!
Lex Scott Davis: [Laughs] We had a Leah/Erica moment too! Initially, I pondered, ‘Are they…?’ The writers quickly reassured me, ‘Don’t set Erica up with everyone,’ which was hilarious to witness!
Lex Scott Davis On Suits LA Season 1’s Harvey Specter, Louis Litt & Daniel Hardman Returns
“It’s Been Awesome To Be In The Same Sentence With These People In The Same Universe”

Previously, you expressed excitement about Gabriel Macht’s return. Have you had the opportunity to meet him, and what was that experience like?
Lex Scott Davis: Indeed, we met! Although we haven’t worked on the same day yet, our first interaction was at the premiere. It was genuinely heartwarming, especially when he surprised everyone on the red carpet. His initial chemistry with Stephen was remarkable. He’s been a steadfast supporter of our work, and having him back is an extension of that support. Additionally, Rick Hoffman’s return as Louis Litt is thrilling; his scenes are bound to be as entertaining as they were in the original series.
Will there be scenes where Erica and Louis share the screen? That dynamic could be explosive!
Lex Scott Davis: [Laughs] While I can’t say specifics, it’s definitely going to be epic.
Daniel Hardman, a fan-favorite antagonist, is also returning. Can we anticipate a confrontation between him and Erica?
Lex Scott Davis: [Laughs and shrugs]
Lex Scott Davis On Suits LA Season 1’s Remaining Episodes & Mysterious Finale
“As A Fan, I Want To Know What Happens With These Characters”

Before we conclude, how has filming progressed, and how many episodes are planned for this season?
Lex Scott Davis: We’re working on 13 episodes, and we are currently filming episode 11. We are nearing our break, but I truly hope we return for a second season. This has been a wonderful journey. The cast and crew exude passion for their craft, and that enthusiasm is infectious. It has been an absolute dream role for me—an iconic career opportunity, combined with the joy of staying in LA and collaborating with such an incredible team.
Can you tease anything about the season finale? I’ve heard Aaron Korsh is particularly skilled at crafting finales.
Lex Scott Davis: That’s the big mystery; I don’t actually know how it all concludes. As a fan myself, I’m curious about the character arcs and their resolutions. We recently conducted a table read for episode 12, and that’s where we currently stand. The finale remains a mystery to me—I’m just as excited as the audience to discover it.
Lex Scott Davis: Yes, we are all on the same page. I find myself asking in every scene if I’m supposed to be flirting or not! [Laughs] We just have a blast with it, and it all flows smoothly!
