Establishing a steady income in Schedule 1 can be quite challenging, particularly during the initial phases of the game. In addition to trading goods from your home garden, players must explore alternative revenue streams. One such method is pickpocketing, which we will dive into in the following sections.
Engaging in pickpocketing within this underground gardening simulator can significantly ease your financial struggles. However, players must exercise caution; getting caught by the police or facing retribution from offended NPCs can lead to severe consequences.
The Art of Pickpocketing in Schedule 1

Almost any character wandering the streets of Schedule 1 can be a potential target for your pickpocketing endeavors. Approach them with goods that align with their tastes; should they refuse to assist your business ventures, you may resort to pickpocketing. Bear in mind that this approach carries significant risks, and stealth is crucial.
To minimize visibility, initiate a crawling stance by pressing Ctrl. This tactic helps you evade the eyes of other NPCs and law enforcement, especially during nighttime. Your next step is to identify a suitable victim, preferably an NPC that is stationary in a deserted area.
While it is possible to target moving NPCs, for beginners, it’s advisable to stick with stationary targets to reduce your chances of detection. Once you have selected the right individual, crawl behind them and wait for the prompt to press the E key to initiate the pickpocketing process.
Successfully pickpocketing is only part of the challenge; you will enter a mini-game where your victim may have a variety of items on them. If you encounter a locked item (indicated by a lock icon), you must unlock it by pressing the space bar when the arrow aligns with the green zone in the mini-game.
If executed correctly, the items will be added to your inventory. Failure, however, can lead to immediate consequences—some NPCs may alert the police, while others might choose to retaliate. It’s important to note that attempting to pickpocket police NPCs is futile.
Increasing Your Pickpocketing Success

In the early stages of gameplay, your ability to pickpocket is limited to only a few items. As you elevate your rank, more green zones will become accessible during your mini-game encounters. Therefore, focus on progressing and earning experience to enhance your pickpocketing capabilities as you navigate the world of Schedule 1.
