On April 21, 2025, a social media account named Yoda Bby Aby posted an eye-catching image supposedly advertising the series, claiming it would air on Max. The poster featured Pascal donned in a sci-fi suit, holding a helmet, and hinted at a September release comprising six episodes.
The accompanying caption teased a storyline where Pascal’s character, an engineer, becomes ensnared aboard the haunted USG Ishimura, facing off against terrifying creatures known as Necromorphs. The post went on to elaborate:
“Directed by horror maestro James Wan, each episode plunges you into a nightmarish abyss of blood-soaked corridors and mind-shattering terror, as the Marker’s curse threatens to consume all of humanity. Dare to watch as survival becomes a gruesome fight against the darkness – streaming this fall!”
It’s important to note that Yoda Bby Aby is a page known for sharing satirical and fabricated news, as mentioned in its bio. Most of the visuals showcased there are not authentic, often featuring imaginary projects that have not even begun development.
The Dead Space poster is one such creation, leading to a flurry of rumors about a new show. While the existence of this series is false, social media users nevertheless expressed their excitement, with many praising Pascal for a role that doesn’t actually exist.

While the news surrounding a film adaptation of the game has been disproven, discussions regarding the project have gained momentum on social platforms. A report from The Escapist in January 2023 alluded to acclaimed director John Carpenter expressing interest in directing a Dead Space film.
However, Carpenter addressed this speculation in an interview with Variety, categorically denying any involvement and indicating he did not know how the rumor originated. He stated, “I was down looking at the new digital camera, the RED, and happened to mention to them that I would love to do a ‘Dead Space’ film. That just went around, and everybody said, ‘Oh, when are you gonna do it?’ I’m not gonna do it. I think they already have another director involved.”

This film featured voice performances by notable actors like Nika Futterman and Keith Szarabajka.
Dead Space: Aftermath, which debuted in 2011. Unfortunately, both films received mixed to poor reviews from audiences.
