The highly-anticipated Netflix reality series Inside, produced by the renowned YouTube group Sidemen, released its fifth episode on March 21. This episode showcased a thrilling challenge titled The Night Watch, which featured contestants in a Talent Show format.
During The Night Watch, selected contestants were granted access to a specialized room used by production to monitor their fellow participants. In this room, a countdown timer was set for 4 minutes, and the assigned contestants were tasked with entering a code to reset the timer. Failure to do so resulted in triggering an alarm and a shift to red lighting in the room, indicating a penalty to the final prize pot.
Highlights from The Night Watch Challenge in Episode 5
Initially, Jason and George were the first contestants to enter the Night Watch cabin. They successfully input the required code with just 8 seconds remaining, resetting the timer back to 4 minutes. Soon after, names displayed on the screen indicated it was Whitney and Mya’s turn, prompting Jason and George to rush out, calling their names to transition the shift.
Following Whitney and Mya’s shift, PK’s name appeared next, compelling the girls to exit and summon him. As the game progressed, the timer showed 1:23 left when a screen prominently flashed the phrase ‘Fresh Trim’. This led PK to check the temptation room, where he found his barber waiting for him. He read a card that stated:
“This is a temptation, you can choose whether or not to take it. We know how much you wanted a haircut, well now this is your chance. Please enjoy your fresh trim for us.”
PK ultimately decided against the temptation and returned to the control room. As time dwindled to 39 seconds, Farah and Whitney’s names were displayed, prompting PK to again call them. However, as they engaged in a conversation, they missed the cue for Milli and Cinna’s turn and were late in responding, resulting in an alarm triggering and a deduction of $15,000 from the prize pool. A visibly frustrated Farah confronted the camera, declaring:
“Do you think this is funny? This is abuse.”
Next up was Jason, who successfully reset the timer but was then directed to the temptation room with the challenge labeled ‘Paper Waste of Time’. He was required to throw a paper ball into a bin from a distance but ultimately failed, causing another $15,000 to be deducted from their prize money.
The challenges continued with Whitney and Milli next on duty, followed by Mya and DDG. Their temptation, ‘All You Can Eat’, invited them to indulge in a buffet-style spread. They were mandated to finish their plates before exiting the room, but they were unable to complete the task in time, leading to yet another penalty of $15,000.
In Jason’s following turn with ‘Paper Waste of Time’, he had three opportunities to make the shot, eventually succeeding on the final attempt. PK was up next with a choice-themed challenge named ‘This choice is yours’. In the temptation room, he faced the risk of choosing between a red pill (+$10,000) and a yellow pill (-$50,000), with the option to decline the challenge altogether. Opting for caution, PK chose to exit the room rather than gamble with the financial stakes.
As the challenge wrapped up, anticipation built for the season finale of Inside, scheduled for release on Saturday, March 22, on Netflix.
