Welcome to Kian’s Bizarre B&B: An Oceanic Adventure with BTS’ Jin, Kian84, and Ji Ye-eun

The show kicks off with delighted guests sharing exhilarating reviews, praising the distinctiveness and fun of their stay. The opening sequences familiarize us with the hosts—Kian84, a talented artist and entertainer; Jin from BTS; and Ji Ye-eun from Saturday Night Live Korea.

In an engaging flashback to April 2024, Kian84 meets with producers to discuss the concept for the bed and breakfast, contemplating potential co-hosts. He expresses admiration for the humor of the women from SNL Korea and suggests including a global star, preferably someone due to the show’s Netflix platform, naming icons like BLACKPINK’s Jennie, BigBang’s G-Dragon, and Jin himself. However, Jin’s participation was in doubt due to his military service obligations, although he would later be discharged in June 2024.

By the end of the month, Kian84 meets again with the production team, who present him with an exciting location option. He travels via ferry and boat to a barge near Ulleungdo Island in the Sea of Japan. Inspired by the breathtaking scenery, Kian84 drafts innovative designs for the B&B that will guide the construction process.

Fast forward to August 25, 2024, the grand opening day of Kian’s B&B. Kian84 is the first to board a ferry to Ulleungdo Island, followed by Ji Ye-eun, who brings a karaoke system and a disco ball for entertainment. Their excitement escalates with the arrival of Jin, who surprises the duo, leading to an awkward yet humorous conversation. Jin lightens the mood by acknowledging how much he enjoys Kian84’s previous shows and complimenting Ji Ye-eun’s performances on SNL Korea.

Once the introductions are out of the way, Kian84 shares his imaginative vision for the B&B, revealing that guests must access the entrance on the second floor by scaling a rock wall. The guests will find a unique setup featuring 11 bunk beds suspended from the exterior walls, all designed for stargazing and ocean views. As Kian84 emphasizes the peculiar aesthetic of the bed and breakfast, curiosity and concern fill the air among the group.

As they approach the barge, an incoming typhoon raises alarms. Nevertheless, the hosts and their guests brave the elements, reaching the port for their first look at the B&B. Jin and Ji express legitimate concerns about the unusual rock wall entrance and the precarious hanging beds. Kian84 reassures them about safety measures, noting the mats strategically placed below, while acknowledging the property’s quirky design.

Due to the adverse weather, production relocates the cast temporarily to an alternative B&B: a remodeled mountain cabin showcasing Kian84’s signature style. They embark on a scenic drive through the mountains, finally boarding a monorail for the downhill journey to their new home.

The cabin is an open-plan space that features a kitchen and designated sleeping quarters for guests, alongside exterior dining areas and separate living quarters for the hosts.

Heading out for grocery supplies, the hosts receive phone calls from arriving guests seeking directions to the cabin. Soon, they’re joined by two college students who will be their inaugural guests, later supplemented by two additional women.

Once they return from collecting supplies, the hosts reel in their first culinary challenge. While cooking dinner consisting of rice, grilled meat, and kimchi, smoke fills the cabin from an overly enthusiastic wooden stove. Jin cleverly resolves this by improvising a ventilation system with a standing fan. Dinner culminates in a lighthearted moment when Jin even calls celebrity chef Baek Jong-won for guidance on navigating the kitchen equipment.

As the day winds down, Jin presents Kian84 and Ji Ye-eun with exclusive pajamas from his 2022 Artist-Made Collection, gifting them a piece of memorabilia that both treasure: Ji Ye-eun likens hers to a “family heirloom,”while Kian84 opts to wear his that night.

The following morning marks the arrival of another guest—a friend of the college students—who Kian eagerly brings to the cabin via monorail. While Jin cleans up after breakfast, Ji Ye-eun brews coffee for everyone, setting an inviting tone for the day ahead. Once the meal concludes, the guests set out to explore their surroundings.

Determined for a change of scenery as the weather improves, Kian84 suggests they transition onto the barge. This requires gathering luggage and heading to the port once more, where Ji Ye-eun, possessing a boat license, skillfully pilots the crew across to their new lodging.

Upon their close-up inspection of the B&B, the cast grapples with further logistics—particularly how to move luggage onto the unique structure. New surprises await them as they discover that the kitchen on the first floor is linked to the upper living areas via a climbing pole, obliging everyone to climb to access essential supplies.

Another delightful twist is the existence of two slides for exits: one leads to the ground while the other plunges directly into the ocean, both originating from second-floor windows.

The team creatively strategizes passing kitchen items through a window as Jin ascends to assemble the kitchen’s organization. Kian and Ji Ye-eun meanwhile swiftly use the slides to ferry in the guests’ luggage. Just as organization concludes, new guests begin to arrive, and Ji Ye-eun sets out to bring them to the barge.

Once the crew is fully assembled, Jin invites the guests to learn how to navigate the unconventional entry. Although initially taken aback, their worries dissipate thanks to the presence of three professional rock climbers among the new arrivals, ensuring everyone’s safe passage into the B&B.

After touring the property, preparations for dinner commence. Observing how guests struggled with access, Kian contemplates modifications like installing stairs instead of the climbing pole and creating a first-floor entrance. Ji Ye-eun supports the idea, but Jin gently nudges Kian to stick with his original vision.

The evening unfolds with warm introductions, a spirited game of ‘Mafia,’ and dinner enjoyed under the stars. Some guests linger to stargaze, cherishing their unique surroundings, as others retreat to their hanging beds for the night.

However, the tranquility is suddenly disrupted by rainfall in the dead of night. Guests awaken to a surprise shower, except for Kian, who remains undisturbed. The episode wraps up with a humorous climax as Jin attempts to rouse Kian, setting the stage for more hilarious antics ahead.

Viewers can look forward to more captivating journeys on Kian’s Bizarre B&B, with new episodes releasing in installments every three episodes. The highly entertaining nine-episode series continues its run, with the next batch set to premiere on April 15, culminating with the final episodes on April 22.
