Ranking All Natlan Characters in Genshin Impact

Natlan characters in Genshin Impact exhibit distinct mechanics compared to characters from other regions. Central to their uniqueness is the Nightsoul Blessing, a combat feature activated via Nightsoul points. These points can be accrued through various means, including Elemental Skills, Bursts, or Ascension passives.

The design of Natlan characters revolves around the Nightsoul mechanics, granting them exclusive traversal abilities. For example, Chasca can briefly fly using her Elemental Skill, showcasing the creativity in Natlan’s character abilities.

As part of the upcoming 5.5 version, two additional Natlan characters will extend the roster. This article aims to evaluate and rank the Natlan characters based on their effectiveness and overall value in gameplay.

10) Kachina

Kachina is a free Natlan character unlocked by progressing through the 5.0 Archon Quest. Players can obtain her by completing main quest segments and engaging with her.

She specializes in off-field geo damage and serves as a buffer due to her ability to utilize the scroll artefact set. When elemental reactions are triggered, this set provides a substantial damage boost of up to 40% for the affected elements, benefiting all party members. However, she is often overshadowed by stronger alternatives like Ororon and Iansan, despite having viable team options.

9) Ororon

Ororon, a 4-star character from the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe, was released in version 5.2 and will be available for free in version 5.5. This character excels in electro-charged reaction scenarios, delivering significant damage in compositions that leverage these reactions.

Ororon particularly shines in multi-target fights and effectively utilizes the scroll set to enhance the overall damage output of his team.

8) Chasca

Chasca offers an unconventional DPS role within her archetype. While she is classified as anemo, her damage potential against other elements surpasses her own.

Her Elemental Skill generates unique projectiles known as Shadowhunt shells, which transform into various elements based on her teammates’ setups. This mechanic allows her to inflict substantial reaction-based damage, albeit primarily to single targets.

7) Mualani

Mualani marked the initial release of Natlan characters in version 5.0. A hydro-catalyst, she hails from the People of the Springs tribe and utilizes the vaporize reaction archetype effectively.

With strong base multipliers, Mualani yields high damage output when executing vaporize reactions, making her a popular choice for speedrunning content. However, her limited team compositions primarily revolve around vaporize strategies.

6) Kinich

Kinich, being the first male Natlan character and a 5-star, features a unique kit emphasizing niche reactions. He excels in team compositions utilizing Burning and Burgeon reactions, as he accumulates additional Nightsoul points when these reactions successfully affect enemies.

Although his damage output leans toward single-target engagements, Kinich remains one of the highest DPS characters available.

5) Varesa

Varesa, an exciting addition in version 5.5, wields an electro-catalyst weapon primarily through plunge attacks.

Her talents yield significant damage multipliers independent of team comps, allowing her to excel in situations against multiple foes. During a recent live broadcast, it was revealed that Iansan would feature on Varesa’s banner as a 4-star character and one of her ideal support options.

4) Iansan

Iansan, anticipated in version 5.5, is designated as a 4-star electro-polearm character. Her support capabilities are reminiscent of Bennett 2.0, as she provides substantial base attack increases and healing to the active character.

At peak talent levels, she offers a 690 base attack bonus and heals at a rate equal to 60% of her own attack, triggering every 2.8 seconds as she restores Nightsoul points. Additionally, Iansan can utilize the scroll artefact set, enhancing elemental damage for her allies.

3) Mavuika

Mavuika is highlighted as one of the premier DPS characters introduced in Natlan. Her synergies with fellow characters Xilonen and Citlali produce extraordinary damage, capable of one-shotting major bosses.

Even when combined with free-to-play options, she delivers impressive damage output and functions as an effective off-field pyro support for both Mualani and Kinich, making her a valuable asset for new players.

2) Citlali

Citlali serves as an exceptional support character with a versatile kit and numerous team dynamics. As a cryo shielder, she offers a 20% resistance shred for pyro and hydro elements.

While her shield may not be as robust as Zhongli‘s, she has proven effective in certain compositions, namely the Arlecchino melt-vape teams. As an off-field cryo applicator, she is pivotal for melt compositions and delivers substantial damage through her ultimate, particularly benefiting freeze teams by reducing opponents’ hydro resistance.

1) Xilonen

Xilonen stands out as one of the top-tier support characters introduced during the Natlan saga. Her adaptability allows her to fit nearly any team except those centered around anemo and dendro elements. Her elemental skill provides a remarkable 36% resistance shred.

Building her is straightforward since she does not rely on crit artefacts. Her resistance shred is based solely on talent level, while her ultimate provides healing to the active character, synergizing effectively with other characters like Furina.

For those seeking a well-rounded support character with both healing and buffing capabilities, Xilonen is an optimal choice.
