As we approach the conclusion of the current season in Pokémon GO, the exciting event called Final Strike: GO Battle Week promises to deliver an abundance of rewards and introduce fresh Pokémon to players. With nearly weekly events becoming the norm in Pokémon GO, some stand out more than others in terms of player engagement and value. One constant draw for trainers, even those who may have drifted away from the game, is the attraction of new Pokémon debuts.
The Final Strike: GO Battle Week follows the much-anticipated Crown Clash event, and it is not to be overlooked. As one of the concluding events under this season’s theme of Might & Mastery, it presents a host of bonuses, debuts, new spawns, updated raids, and much more that are bound to hold players’ interest through the week. Although a new season, slated to commence in June 2025, will undoubtedly introduce exciting changes, this event is an excellent opportunity for both veteran and returning trainers.

Dates & Times Of The Event

The Final Strike: GO Battle Week invites participation from all Pokémon GO players, with the substantial majority of content available without the need for tickets. However, there are two types of paid research tasks available: a timed research option and the Fuzzy Fighter Special Research. Additionally, trainers can engage in a special event focused on the GO Battle League, featuring a variety of classic cups for competitive battles.
Players who opt for the paid tickets can also earn extra rewards, including an encounter with Dynamax Kubfu. The event will run from Wednesday, May 21, at 10 AM local time, until Tuesday, May 27, at 8 PM local time. This timeframe offers ample chances for players to maximize the new spawns, raids, and bonuses that are part of the event.

A New Evolution For Trainers

One of the standout features of the Final Strike event is the debut of Ursifu in its two distinct forms. The previously available Generation 8 Legendary Pokémon Kubfu will finally gain the ability to evolve. Starting with the commencement of the Final Strike event, players can evolve Kubfu into either form of Ursifu for a cost of 200 Kubfu Candies, depending on the specific conditions met for each version.
To evolve Kubfu into Urshifu (Single Strike Style), trainers must defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. Conversely, to achieve the Rapid Strike Style, players need to defeat 30 Water-type Pokémon in similar encounters. Notably, if you temporarily switch Kubfu out as your buddy, any progress made will carry over once you reselect it.
Furthermore, players can expect the following Pokémon to spawn more frequently in the wild during the event: Mankey, Seel, Galarian Zigzagoon, Meditite, and Froakie. All these Pokémon also have the potential to appear in their shiny forms. Additionally, trainers will have a chance to encounter Deino and Nickit, albeit at a lesser frequency.
All Pokémon Raids During Final Strike Event
New 1 & 3 Star Raids

Throughout the Final Strike event, a fresh lineup will replace the existing Raid Boss schedule for the 1- and 3-star raids, while 5-star raids will remain unchanged. Players can participate in 1-star raids against Carvanha, Stunky, and Mareanie, all are well within the capabilities of solo trainers to defeat.
On the other hand, the 3-star raids consist of Lapras, Hisuian Samurott, and Bombirdier. These Pokémon are less common in the game, making this event an excellent chance for players who still need to catch them. All six featured Pokémon during this event also have a chance to appear in their shiny forms following a successful battle.

Additional Bonuses And Rewards

Beyond the increased encounters and raids, the Final Strike event offers additional benefits for active players in Pokémon GO. For every successful raid, participants will earn double XP, significantly boosting potential rewards, especially in 5-star legendary raids against formidable Pokémon. Additionally, players will have an enhanced chance to find Shiny Meditite, Shiny Stunky, and Shiny Mareanie during the event, making this an ideal time to complete your Pokédex.
Notably, five Pokémon will have opportunities to learn new or rare moves unique to this event. Any Lapras encountered through either raids or field research will know the Charged Attack Ice Beam. Similarly, Mankey, Seel, Zweilous, and Frogadier’s evolved forms will also possess special charged attacks when evolved during this timeframe.
True to Pokémon GO’s nature, the Final Strike: GO Battle Week introduces new items in the in-game store that players can purchase using Poké Coins. Lastly, a series of research tasks available during the event will provide additional encounters with the featured Pokémon, accompanied by both Special Research and Timed Research options, along with two paid ticketed choices. This combination of activities means that Final Strike: GO Battle Week offers an array of engaging elements for all Pokémon GO players, making it a must-attend event.
