Skorupi’s evolution is being featured as a 3-Star Raid boss in Pokemon Go, so if you manage to snatch one, here’s the best moveset you can teach Drapion to dominate both PvP and Raid battles.

The fourth generation of Pokemon introduced fans to Skorupi and Drapion, the latter of which proved to be a formidable creature in the mainline games, mostly thanks to only being weak to Ground-type moves.

But, how should Pokemon Go trainers treat the dual Poison/Dark-type Pokemon to fully exploit its potential?

In case you catch a Drapion during its time as a 3-Star Raid boss in Pokemon Go, here’s an overview of its best moveset, as well as whether it can hold its own in PvP play.

Pokemon Go Drapion best PvP moveset

The best moveset for Drapion in PvP is Bite as a Fast Move and Sludge Bomb as a Charged Move, with 12.47 damage per second and 351.1 damage before the Pokemon faints. Even though Poison types are doomed for mediocrity in the game’s meta, Drapion can really put up a fight, more so as an XL or Shadow.

However, it’s worth noting that the overall Drapion move pool is very useful for PvP, as Ice Fang and Aqua Tail can target Ground-type creatures (Drapion’s only weakness), Bite and Crunch are a great damage combo that can benefit from STAB, as well as Crunch and Sludge Bomb in case you’re looking for STAB with more coverage.

Pokemon go Drapion best Raid moveset

Drapion’s best moveset for Raids consists of Poison Sting as a Fast Move and Sludge Bomb as a Charged Move. It isn’t great at it, but Drapion’s HP and good Defense stat help it hold its ground long enough.

If you’re looking for a more defensive approach, you can switch Poison Sting for Infestation. More so, you can also exchange Sludge Bomb for Fell Stinger and make Drapion a bug attacker.
