Understanding ID Cards in Phasmophobia
Phasmophobia introduces ID Cards as a cosmetic feature, offering players a unique way to showcase their in-game identity. Each ID Card contains essential player information, including the player’s name, platform, level, instead of badge, and character model. This dual-functionality enhances personal expression while allowing effective engagement with other players within the game.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore the mechanics of ID Cards, reveal methods for customizing and unlocking them, and outline the requirements for obtaining all available badges in Phasmophobia.
What are ID Cards in Phasmophobia?

ID Cards serve as a cosmetic representation of players’ achievements as they navigate the haunting challenges of Phasmophobia. Players earn in-game currency and experience points (XP) through ghost identification and survival during hunts, leading to leveling up. Each ID Card displays:
- Player Name
- Platform Icon
- Level
- Badge
- Character Model
Along the bottom of the ID Card is a progress bar indicating XP, which can also be adjusted when viewing other players’ ID Cards for voice chat volume control.
Customizing Your ID Cards

Every player begins with a basic ID Card design as an intern. Character Models can be modified at any time by interacting with the model portrait, allowing for a wide range of appearance options. The badge displayed on the ID Card can be altered by selecting the customize button in the top right corner. Players can earn additional badges by leveling up or participating in special seasonal or community events.
Upon reaching Level 100, players can achieve Prestige Level One and earn Prestige Badges. To maximize XP gains, focus on accurately identifying ghosts, surviving hunts, and completing optional objectives. The first ten Prestige badges come with static backgrounds, while those from levels 11 to 20 feature animated backgrounds for added flair.

Special Badges are exclusively awarded based on specific conditions. Events such as the 2025 Cursed Hollow Easter Event offer unique time-limited badges. Additionally, Special Badges are granted to Kinetic Games employees, including Discord team members, partners, translators, and winners of content competitions. Certain maps also feature badges awarded for identifying a specific number of ghosts and surviving a predetermined number of hunts.
