Patrice Evra Calls Whitney Adebayo’s £30k Birthday Celebration “Selfish”

The highly anticipated second season of Inside debuted on Netflix on March 17, featuring the popular YouTube collective Sidemen as hosts. This season, the reality competition introduces ten new participants vying for a staggering prize of £770,000.

Whitney Adebayo’s £30k Birthday Temptation

In the third episode, which aired on March 19, contestant Whitney Adebayo faced an intriguing challenge in the Temptation Room. She was presented with the option to spend £30,000 to host a lavish birthday celebration for her upcoming 27th birthday.

Whitney enthusiastically accepted the temptation; however, not all her fellow contestants were pleased. Patrice Evra openly criticized her decision, expressing that spending such an extravagant amount on a birthday bash was excessive. He cautioned against ruining the atmosphere but firmly denounced her choice as a “selfish”move.

“I don’t wanna ruin the vibe, but, guys, this is selfish,”he said.

Inside the house, the contestants share their lives while facing various challenges, each one aimed at inching closer to the grand prize. These tasks are often complicated by temptations that lure contestants with personal luxuries at the cost of their potential winnings.

Setting the Scene for the Celebration

As the episode progressed, the anticipation around Whitney’s decision grew. Approaching the Temptation Room, her peers urged her to resist surrendering any portion of the prize fund. Upon entering, she was greeted by a festive setup complete with balloons and floral decorations celebrating her milestone, the number “27”elegantly displayed at the center.

Impressed by the charming arrangement, Whitney found it both “cute”and “romantic,”momentarily envisioning her boyfriend’s possible arrival as part of the temptation. The letter on the table proposed a celebration that would include snacks, drinks, and cake, enticing her even further to part with £30,000 from the collective prize fund.

“To celebrate your birthday, we’d like to offer you and your fellow Insiders a party to enjoy this evening. The party will include snacks, drinks and cake and will cost you 30K from the group prize fund. If you’d like to accept this temptation, please confirm by saying, ‘Happy birthday to me,'”the letter read.

Without hesitation, Whitney accepted, believing her fellow contestants would be thrilled to celebrate together. Upon returning to the main room to announce her decision, reactions were mixed; Mandi Vakili expressed delight at the news of the party, while others expressed apprehension over the expenditure.

During some downtime, as the contestants gathered to discuss Whitney’s choice, concerns bubbled up. George Clarke suggested she might have misinterpreted the Sidemen’s intentions, hinting that it could potentially be a ruse to deplete their prize money, while Farah Shams humorously speculated they might only receive cupcakes instead of a full-blown party.

Patrice Evra pressed Whitney about the validity of the Sidemen’s claims regarding the celebration size, reiterating that her decision might ultimately be a mistake. Darryl Dwayne Granberry came to Whitney’s defense, arguing that her intention was to include everyone in the festivity, to which Farah agreed, asserting that Whitney did not act with malice.
