The next significant update for Path of Exile 2 will introduce the long-awaited feature that allows players to respec their Ascendancy classes. This enhancement is expected to roll out “mid next week,”as confirmed by the development team at Grinding Gear Games.
Although the game launched with positive feedback, the recent update 0.2.0 triggered some debate within the player base. Numerous gamers expressed their concerns that the current gameplay demands excessive grinding, particularly noting that certain meta classes are now almost essential to achieve notable damage outputs against enemies. Following the Dawn of the Hunt update, the game temporarily hovered around “Mostly Negative”on Steam reviews, though it has since stabilized at a “Mixed”rating.
Nevertheless, encouraging changes are on their way, as Grinding Gear Games has shared in a recent forum post that players will soon have the opportunity to respec their Ascendancy classes. This highly anticipated feature comes with a caveat—it will require players to invest some effort to utilize effectively.
Introducing the Respec Feature for Ascendancy Classes in Path of Exile 2
The forthcoming update will allow players to redo a Path of Exile 2 Ascendancy Trial, enabling them to change their currently selected class at the Ascension device, provided they accumulate a sufficient number of points during the Trial. Importantly, players can only change their class if they have not allocated any points to it yet. The respec window can be accessed by visiting either Balbala or the Trialmaster, both conveniently located near the Ascension device. Additionally, there are several other adjustments included in this update: for instance, players can now access seven-chamber ultimatums starting at level 55, reduced from level 60, while ten-chamber ultimatums can be approached beginning at level 65, lowered from level 75.
As Path of Exile 2 continues to address the feedback from the Dawn of the Hunt update, it appears that brighter days lie ahead for its gameplay dynamics. It’s essential to keep in mind that the game is still in Early Access, meaning all design choices remain subject to change.
