Path of Exile 2 Takes Action Against Players Exploiting Unique Ritual Tablet for Mirror Duplication

This week, a select group of players in Path of Exile 2 may be facing consequences for exploiting the “Freedom of Faith”Unique Precursor Tablet. These players utilized this item to amass significant quantities of Expensive Omens, Divines, and Mirrors by excessively engaging in Ritual activities. As of eight hours preceding this announcement, the developers had already addressed this loophole, rendering the rerolling functionality of Freedom of Faith insufficient for generating an infinite supply of these resources.

In addition to addressing this exploit, the developers at Grinding Gear Games (GGG) have initiated the first wave of bans since the launch of the new League. This action aims to stabilize the in-game economy by curbing the unwarranted inflation of high-tier currencies.

While the specific criteria for these bans have not been disclosed, there is speculation that GGG may evaluate each case individually through loot logs. A fair review might protect players who inadvertently benefited from the exploit, allowing them to keep their accounts while confiscating the items gained. However, details on whether intentional exploiters will face account-wide bans remain unclear.

This recent development was highlighted in the patch notes for version 0.2.0d, which also outlines additional enhancements aimed at improving gameplay in the “Dawn of The Hunt.”Notably, developers introduced a new Spear Skill named Cull the Weak, designed to provide Spear users with a method to gain early-game Frenzy without relying on the Buckler item.

  • The functionality of the “Freedom of Faith”Unique Tablet has been modified to allow rerolls at Ritual Altars in maps only twice, eliminating the previous infinite rerolling capability. This change affects all current instances of the item and communities using this tablet, stemming from recent exploit activities. As a response, their wealth accumulation is currently being reversed, and bans are being enforced.
  • Introduction of a new Spear skill: Cull the Weak. This skill features a rapid dash that applies Culling Strike, providing a Frenzy Charge upon defeating enemies.
  • Cull the Weak is available starting at uncut gem tier 3+. The Spearfield tier has been adjusted from tier 3+ to tier 5+.
  • The Elemental Sundering skill now pauses Freeze, Shock, and Ignite effects on targets during the buildup to an explosion, consuming them upon detonation. Previously, these effects were removed too soon, allowing for strategic advantages.
  • Whirlwind Lance’s additional and barraged projectiles will now distribute more closely together, ensuring spread patterns remain focused on the intended target location.
  • Flesh Larva monsters are no longer subject to imprisonment effects from Essences.
  • Resolved an issue where the Ancestral Spirits skill linked to the Answered Call Warbringer Ascendancy Passive Skill was not activating correctly when summoning a Totem.
  • Fixed a bug that could halt progress during taming of beasts in the Trial of the Sekhemas or Trials of Chaos encounters.
  • Corrected a bug that caused the Convalescence skill to improperly revert players from Demon Form.
  • Addressed an issue where melee splash radius modifiers were being applied erroneously.
  • Resolved a bug that prevented the boss fight against Connal, the Tormented, in the Willow Map from restarting correctly after a failed attempt.
  • Corrected an issue where the Toxic Growth skill could not be supported by Overabundance.
