Park Seo-joon had an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul on January 11th and shared various stories about Netflix’s original series “Gyeongseong Creature” .
“Gyeongseong Creature” depicts the story of two young people confronting the monster born out of greed in the Spring of 1945, known as the darkest era. Park Seo-joon took the role of Jang Tae-sang, the owner of Geumokdang, the best pawn shop in Gyeongseong.
After the drama was released, there were comments saying the relationship between Tae-sang and Chae-ok progressed too fast. In response, Park Seo-joon said, “Thinking about how people living in difficult times loved each other, I believe that they could develop a relationship as we do now as they shared conversations and spent time together” . He added, “I didn’t think much about the need for a setting or situation because I thought emotions of love could be felt through eyes and words the more the characters spent time together. Such a romance could happen” .
Regarding his co-star Han So-hee, Park Seo-joon said, “She poured great effort into preparing this work. I also thought I should work harder” , adding “Filming action scenes took so much time. In the second half, there were even physical fights. To preserve strength for those scenes, she tried to maintain a pleasant atmosphere. While joking around, we also showed support to each other” .
He continued, “We had very few scenes together at the beginning of the drama, so our filming schedules rarely overlapped and I did not even meet her for more than a month” , adding “I really looked forward to our shoot together. I tend to find ways to match my acting with that of my co-stars, but Han So-hee reacted very well so we were able to create a harmonious atmosphere” .
Park Seo-joon added, “She was very bright and she knew how to lead the atmosphere very well. She were very nice to the seniors” , adding “She has great energy so I think she will do much better in the future” .
Meanwhile, “Gyeongseong Creature” , starring Park Seo-joon, is available for streaming on Netflix.
