Paramount+ to Premiere Documentary on Impact of October 7 Attacks

Paramount+ has announced the acquisition of the poignant documentary The Children of October 7, featuring the voice of Montana Tucker as she engages with Israeli children profoundly affected by the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. This eye-opening film is set to premiere on April 23, 2024, on the Paramount+ streaming service, followed by a broadcast on MTV.

Creating Awareness Through Storytelling

The documentary, directed by Asaf Becker and produced by Kastina Communications, offers a harrowing depiction of the experiences of Israeli children who endured unimaginable trauma—being taken hostage, witnessing the brutal loss of parents, and seeing their homes invaded by terrorists. As the situation continues to evolve, the film captures not just the immediate horror but also the long-term impacts of these events on young lives. This screening contributes to the larger conversation surrounding the ongoing Israeli-Gaza conflict that escalated in the wake of these terrorist attacks.

Shari Redstone, Chair of Paramount Global, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing content that enlightens and educates. She stated, “This documentary powerfully reveals the terror of October 7 and its aftermath for thousands of children whose lives will never be the same. Montana Tucker’s dedication to sharing these stories is impressive, and through airing this documentary on Paramount+ and MTV, we can ensure these vital narratives reach audiences nationwide.”

Voices of the Young

Montana Tucker, known for her activism and social media presence, shared her deeply personal reflections on the project, highlighting its significance. “The Children of October 7 is one of the most important projects I’ve ever been part of. As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, listening to these children recount the losses they faced in a single morning is hauntingly familiar. I’m grateful they trusted me with their stories, and I am thankful for the opportunity provided by Paramount+ and MTV for their voices to be heard on such a powerful platform,” she expressed.

Collaborative Efforts Behind the Lens

The documentary features an impressive production team, including Eytan Schwartz, Meny Aviram, Mor Tregger, Zameret Alexaneroni, Jonathan Barsade, and Rotem Alima. Collectively, they aim to amplify the realities faced by these children and highlight the urgent need for awareness and empathy in addressing the consequences of conflict.

Paramount+ previously released another documentary titled We Will Dance Again in September 2024, furthering their mission to present diverse narratives that reflect contemporary issues.
