All three variants of Paldean Tauros exhibit several shared characteristics, including:

  • Attack: 210
  • Defense: 193
  • Stamina: 181
  • Max CP: 3,207

In terms of moves, they share three Fast Moves: Double Kick, Tackle, and Zen Headbutt, along with access to common Charged Moves such as Earthquake, Iron Head, and Trailblaze.

Differentiating Factors: Typing and Move Sets

Although their stats are identical, the breeds can be distinguished by their types, one unique Charged Move option, and availability:

  • Combat Breed: Exclusively a mono Fighting-type, this breed knows Close Combat and can be found in the Iberian Peninsula.
  • Blaze Breed: This variant is a Fighting- and Fire-type, learning Flame Charge and is available in the Eastern Hemisphere.
  • Aqua Breed: A Fighting- and Water-type, it can use Aqua Jet and is located in the Western Hemisphere.

Choosing the Best Breed of Paldean Tauros in Pokémon GO

For those engaged in Player vs. Player (PvP) battles, the Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros emerges as the optimal choice. On the other hand, Player vs. Environment (PvE) players may find the Combat Breed more advantageous.

Despite having a greater number of weaknesses, the Aqua Breed consistently outperforms its counterparts in the Great and Ultra Leagues of the GO Battle League, owing to its access to Aqua Jet, a high-damage, low-energy move. Additionally, it benefits from Trailblaze, further enhancing its offensive capabilities.

Conversely, in PvE scenarios, the Combat Breed holds a unique advantage by being the sole version capable of utilizing a STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) for both its Fast and Charged Attacks. While this may not propel it to the forefront of Fighting-type attackers in Pokémon GO, it sufficiently positions the Combat Breed above its two counterparts.
