After two years since its initial launch, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is receiving a fresh batch of five amiibo figures. These announcements were made during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, which outlined the exciting new features for the next-generation console, including significant upgrades for beloved games such as Tears of the Kingdom.
The Nintendo Switch 2 promises backward compatibility for numerous titles, while also innovatively enhancing many existing games. These improvements allow for better graphics and additional gameplay features, elevating the overall player experience. Notably, Tears of the Kingdom will be among the titles benefiting from this upgrade, supported by new amiibo releases.
Nintendo confirmed that the Sages featured in Tears of the Kingdom will inspire five brand-new amiibo figures. These amiibo include Tulin, Yunobo, Riju, Sidon, and Mineru. The first four will be available on June 5 to coincide with the Switch 2’s launch, while Mineru’s amiibo, which is designed to reflect her construct form rather than her past appearance, will be released at a later, undisclosed date.

What to Expect from the New amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom
Tears of the Kingdom just like previous amiibo offerings. This functionality allows users to unlock in-game items, including weapons, materials, and a unique fabric design for Link’s paraglider. Currently, specific details about the items these amiibo will reveal remain limited. While pricing information has yet to be disclosed, it’s reasonable to anticipate that the first four amiibo will be priced similarly to traditional amiibo, likely in the range of $20 to $30 USD. As for Mineru’s amiibo, which appears larger, it may come at a premium cost.

Although the Nintendo Switch 2’s direct focus wasn’t specifically on amiibo features, Nintendo has assured fans of their ongoing support for these collectible figures. Alongside Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6 will also see a new range of amiibo figures to honor its upcoming launch on the Switch 2. This includes not just three amiibo figurines, but also 22 collectible amiibo cards, both set to release on the console’s launch date. Given the popularity of amiibo, it would be wise for collectors and fans to consider pre-ordering to secure these sought-after collectibles.
