Overview of Ranked Knockout in Fall Guys
- Ranked Knockout Mode: A new competitive mode introduced, offering players unique cosmetic rewards.
- Ranking System: Players can ascend through eight distinct ranks, resetting every eight weeks.
- Rewards: Earn exclusive Ranked Emoticons and aim for the highly coveted Supreme Idol Costume each cycle.
On April 1, Fall Guys launched an exciting update across all platforms, unveiling the Ranked Knockout game mode. This addition incorporates an intriguing ranking structure along with exclusive cosmetic incentives for dedicated players. Notably, while the release coincided with April Fool’s Day, this mode is intended as a permanent enhancement, featuring updates every eight weeks.
Though Fall Guys debuted in 2020, the game lacked a ranked gameplay element akin to what players might find in popular titles like Fortnite until this recent update. Following its transition to a free-to-play format in 2022, the game embraced a battle pass system known as the Fame Pass. This system provides a mix of free and premium rewards, allowing players to personalize their avatars further. Previous Fame Passes have included iconic costumes based on characters from renowned franchises such as Final Fantasy XIV and Death Stranding, thereby enhancing players’ experiences as they compete for crowns.
With the introduction of Ranked Knockout, players are presented with a novel opportunity to intensify competition among friends while earning distinctive rewards. According to Mediatonic’s official announcement, this mode is accessible on all platforms, necessitating approximately 3.8 GB of additional storage on PC and similar sizes on consoles. Players will progress through eight ranks: Rookie, Contender, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ace, Star, and Superstar, with points awarded based on the rounds completed during gameplay.
Introduction to the Ranked Knockout Mode
Ranked progression is nuanced; every rank, except for Superstar, is subdivided into three to five tiers. Players will only face demotions between these subdivisions until they achieve a Gold rank or higher. However, an overall demotion, such as falling from Gold to Silver, will not occur. The Ranked Knockout operates on an eight-week Competitive Cycle, which resets standings back to Rookie rank at the beginning of each cycle. Matchmaking is designed to pair players with others of similar ranks, fostering a fair competitive environment.

Mediatonic has also urged players to report any instances of cheating or bugs that may arise, reinforcing the importance of a fair playing field. Every Competitive Cycle concludes with the distribution of Ranked Emoticons, and those reaching either Star or Superstar ranks will be rewarded with the striking Supreme Idol Costume. It’s worth noting that ranking rewards will be retired at the end of each Ranked Knockout cycle, ensuring that players are consistently engaged and motivated.
The addition of the Ranked Knockout mode solidifies Fall Guys‘ position as a premier play-to-win game. The longevity and evolving competition will surely be interesting to watch as players strive to attain the highest ranks in this beloved title.
