Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (Max) – March 17
Following on from the revelations made in Jennette McCurdy’s ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is a four-part docuseries delving into the kids TV empire built by Dan Schneider, the creator of Nickelodeon shows such as iCarly and Zoey 101. “Behind the upbeat onscreen presence on these shows with questionable jokes and over-the-top sketches, Quiet On Set reveals an insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew,” states ID.
Madu (Disney Plus) – March 29
This inspiring documentary follows 12-year-old Anthony Madu as he leaves his family and community in Nigeria to study at one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world in the UK. “Having never left his home outside of Lagos, Anthony finds himself thrust into a new world where his wildest dreams are suddenly within reach,” reads the synopsis. “His courageous journey is a story of extraordinary obstacles as he searches for belonging and acceptance, a family far away, and unexpected challenges that could impact his future.”
