After a long hiatus of 26 years, SNK is set to bring back the beloved Fatal Fury franchise. This installment will include a core selection of 17 fighters that seasoned players will recognize, such as Terry Bogard, Billy Kane, Mai Shiranui, and protagonists like Rock Howard. What truly sets this title apart are its unexpected characters, including DJ Salvatore Ganacci and renowned soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, who are set to join the fray alongside the returning heroes.
In an official announcement, SNK confirmed that Hokutomaru will complete the base roster as the 17th fighter. The reveal came with a fresh gameplay trailer, showcasing a significant evolution in Hokutomaru’s fighting style; he has transitioned from utilizing a wooden sword to employing nimble hand-to-hand combat techniques. The event saw participation from top professional players, including Saul “MenaRD” Leonardo, Bryant ‘Smug’ Huggins, and legendary King of Fighters player Lin “E.T.” Chia-hung, who provided insights into the character’s abilities.
Hokutomaru Joins as the Final Character in the Roster
Originally introduced in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Hokutomaru is depicted as a youthful protégé of both Andy Bogard and Mai Shiranui. His fighting methodology merges Mai’s weapon throwing techniques with Andy’s renowned Kuhadan. While he has retired the wooden sword, he retains the shuriken as part of his arsenal, alongside exciting new moves. The official storyline reveals that following his participation in the Mark of the Wolves tournament, Hokutomaru has settled in South Town with the support of Terry. With an upcoming competition on the horizon, he is eager to demonstrate his growth since his time in the mountains.

With Hokutomaru confirmed as the last character added to the base roster, fans are buzzing with anticipation for the release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, slated for April 24, available on both PC and consoles. Beyond the base lineup of 17 fighters, SNK has also announced the Season 1 pass for the game, which will include heavyweights such as Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li, Ken, and Mr. Big as future additions.
