On April 22, 2025, Netflix Anime excitedly revealed the official trailer for BET, a new English-language live-action series inspired by the acclaimed Japanese manga, Kakegurui. This highly anticipated show is set to debut globally on May 15, 2025, and consists of ten captivating episodes.

Official Trailer for BET Revealed

In a significant announcement, Netflix Anime shared the official trailer for BET, which draws inspiration from the widely popular manga series Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura. The trailer showcases the series’ unique premise and thematic focus on high-stakes gambling.

The live-action adaptation follows the story of Yumeko, a transfer student at St. Dominic’s Prep — a prestigious institution steeped in a century-old history. This elite school is known for enrolling children who aspire to become influential figures, such as CEOs and leaders. However, it’s not just the academic rigor that shapes these individuals; rather, it’s the cutthroat gambling that defines their experience.

At St. Dominic’s Prep, victory in gambling is of utmost importance, as only the top ten students gain entry into the secretive student council. This council operates with ruthless ambition, and both students and faculty members have mysteriously vanished—leaving their fates unknown. The atmosphere created by these intense stakes adds a gripping layer to the unfolding narrative.

As the trailer unfolds, it provides insights into Yumeko’s motivations. A talented gambler with a complex past, she seeks more than mere financial gain. Her backstory reveals a tragic connection to St. Dominic’s Prep; following the death of her parents, Yumeko suspects that someone within the institution is behind their demise. This personal mission propels her into a world of high-stakes gaming and intrigue.
